I dont want to use real water, but I also want an alternative that isn’t demanding for low end devices. How would I go about this? I don’t want to use beams since they aren’t greatly configurable, Any pitches?

For low end users quality and complexity is pretty much eliminated. We see a lot of games simply use a blue color (sometimes textured) brick repressing water. For this I’d use this system we also see games like work at a pizza place use system like this. There really isn’t much more to it than a brick to symbolizing water if their device cannot handle the Roblox’s Terrain Water. I hope this helped and best of luck to you.
Edit: YouTube has a bunch of helpful tutorials for things like this.
