Icons, Descriptions, and their purpose

Icons, Descriptions, and their purpose. This guide is made to help market any sort of UGC- games, models, accessories, game passes, and more. Understanding these essential components will boost your sales.

Understanding icons and how to write good descriptions will boost your store sales.

As a child, we’re always taught to never judge a book by its cover- however, consumers don’t exactly follow that golden rule.

Consider this:

  • 42% of shoppers admit that they base their opinion of a shop on its overall design.

  • 52% of shoppers won’t return to an online shop because of its overall look.

  • 60% of customers feel more secure about a purchase when it’s packaged with the word “guaranteed.” Nevermind who’s doing the guaranteeing.

Those percentages will either make or break your profit margins.

Imagine this:
You order a fancy new phone, but it arrives in a broken down box barely hanging together by tape. Your new phone might be fine- but I am sure you would feel a little disappointed by the packaging.

Customers may feel the same way about your product’s icon and description. You may have an amazing and fancy product, but if you put little to no effort together- no one will bat an eye in it’s direction.

So, how can we improve our design and ensure customers will buy our products? It’s simple. We must use good and enticing icons and descriptions to get customers to click on our products.

The first step to a great icon is color. Color controls our emotions. Color determines what we see, how we feel, and how we interpret things.

Here is a fantastic chart explaining color psychology in marketing:

We can also use Roblox examples to further illustrate this point:

The use of bold color and assets help the developers portray their game and gain clicks.

We can use colors to subconsciously plant ideas and feelings into our customers minds- enticing them to purchase our products.

Icons and color aren’t the only thing important to selling our products. One of the most essential, yet overlooked features is our product description.

Having a detailed explanation of what your product is- is a MUST.

Listing out all items included and your terms is important because not only does it give the buyer an idea of exactly what they’re getting, it also creates a sense of security to you and the buyer. Without a good description, the customer has no idea what to expect when purchasing something.

Here is an example of a good description.

Moving forward, when creating your product- ask yourself… would I buy something with little to no description? Does this icon look like something I would buy?

If the answer is yes- perfect! If no- you may want to use the tips above.

Utilizing a good icon and description are guaranteed ways to boost your sales.
