I'd like to showcase my Typing Game!

I have made a typing game in Roblox Studio and I want to improve it! I am going to try to commit to this project because I think it has a lot of potential to grow into something big. I’ll try my best to incorporate everything you guys say. and for your information this is my account. I’ll change the bio of the user to prove it Blox Typing [ALPHA] 0.0.4 - Roblox

  • Things I already plan to add
  1. Titles (Added )

  2. Coins/Currency

  3. Experience and Levels

  4. Themes

  5. RACES

  • Bugs that I know of

Time bugs out when button pressed a lot of times

Back can sometimes take you all the way to the title screen.

errors can interfere with time

errors count backspaces when done twice or more

Saving finally works! Turns out the update just wasn’t published to roblox!

I love this ! Really nice work bro ! I used to go into typwritter site and practice a lot but couldn’t think of a ROBLOX game similar to it , nice work ! :+1:

I almost got 100 WPM :frowning:

Glad you liked it! Before I made it I had to make sure nobody did similar and surprisingly nobody had!

I was inspired by games like nitro type to make something similar, but I was always too lazy. Glad your stepping up and doing it! You are also improving your typing skills rather than just playing just because.

EDIT: Oops. I just wasn’t looking hard enough.

Unless it’s calculated in the WPM on the top left, I believe it should be 84 WPM, because of the 13 errors

Oh speaking of which, @Fakality do you calculate the final WPM with minusing it by the number of words with errors? I’ll have to try the game out myself when I get on my computer (if I remember lol).

No, it’s just calculated by the total time so it’s counting the time the errors take to fix.

Ah okay, so at the end you don’t subtract the errors from the WPM? They usually do that, but it’s no big deal - it depends on the site I suppose.

  1. I was inspired a LOT by type racer, like how the modes are practice and (coming soon!) Race. Since I wanted to get better at UI and scripting in lua, I decided that I would recreate type racer but with its own special features.

  2. I don’t plan to unless something really neat pops up, mainly because I’m not too good at building.

I think it is really good, but the color palette could use an upgrade. It may just be me but I don’t think the colors you chose look that good. Also quick note, while on the “practice” screen you the help button is still there and it takes you to the help screen. I found this out when I misclicked.

You can now play on Mobile so you can play whenever you need to!

Wow! I’m a professional and competitive typist IRL and I’ve noticed this is a great place to practice my typing skills. I’ll 100% use this in the future, could I recommend something though? I was wondering if you could add a global leaderboard for the fastest typists? By taking the average of the players WPM displaying it on a UI showing all the best Typists.

This is awesome :+1: It reminds me of a typing game one of my teachers made us use when I was i middle school  Keep up the good work!
