Hi guys! Soon, there will be New year, Christmas, and some other events. Most games celebrate them by adding some limited-time things which you can buy for yourself with event currency or some money.
But I have gotten the following idea:
Players can somehow get gifts (buying, finding, doesn’t matter here), but they can’t just get item inside gift themselves. In order to unwrap gift, player must gift it to someone else, and gifted player can open that gift and receive it’s content.
This arises some problems, though:
- Scammers - give me gift and I’ll give you one too. You know how such scenarios usually end.
- Alt accounts - alts give gifts to main account.
- I WANT TO OPEN IT MYSELF!!! - results in asking for gifting gift back.
Solving this problems is hard, that’s what I have came up with:
- First point and that one which is impossible to truly solve. Gift is being transferred to other player, this idea don’t supports trading mechanics.
- To solve alting, I can implement gifting limit per player-to-player equal to 1-3 gifts. I’m unsure if players have 200 alts, but this will make some trouble for such farming - you can get normally 100 gifts of active play, and alting can give you same amount, but with big repetitions.
- To solve this, gift and it’s content will be unable to be gifted to original player, even if it was in 100 player sized loop.
Now let’s look at positive sides of this system:
- Players are encouraged to socialize with eachother. They will give other players joy and happiness!
- Not that boring grinding system - you can receive gifts, and give them to other players, or open all yourself if you are greedy. >:]
- You can be proud of yourself for making happy a lot of people!
