Hey guys! For the people who don’t have access to Paypal yet and don’t have a credit or debit card can’t purchase anything.
It’d be really nice if more payment methods, like iDEAL, would appear on the page. It’s really convenient, easy and you don’t need to be 18+ (like on Paypal) and you don’t need a credit or debit card. All you need is your bank account, a phone and the required money on the bank of course!
It’s a lot more convenient for at least my country (The Netherlands), and probably some other countries, because in my country we don’t make use of credit or debit cards a lot. Paypal is only for adults over 18 years old.
It would be great if foreign banks would participate in / implement a payment system like iDEAL because it is really nice, but unfortunately I think iDEAL is only for Dutch banks right now.
iDEAL is in fact exclusive to the Netherlands, but its also the only payment method used in the Netherlands. The majority of Dutch players are unable to buy anything on Roblox due to the absence of a payment method they can use (credit cards are rare here and Paypal is mainly used for businesses). That’s a lot of potential revenue thrown out of the window!!
I don’t understand why this is the case though, there are billions of payment partners out there who have local solutions in all areas of the world. If additional payment options allow more players to buy things, the lost %fee to the payment partner shouldn’t be an issue as the alternative is these players don’t spend a dime.
Fun fact, Roblox had much more accessible payment methods back in 2011. They supported prepaid cards (Wallie/Paysafe) which were available at every gas station in the Netherlands, which have since been replaced by US/UK-exclusive “Roblox Cards”. Good move Roblox…

The Netherlands can’t contribute money at all if iDEAL isn’t here. (Except for the people having a credit/debit card or are 18+)
Note that children often want to buy something and at times nag their parents. But in the Netherlands this isn’t possible on ROBLOX, as iDEAL isn’t here.
Then again, older people (about 14 - 17 years old), usually having more money to spend, can’t spend money on ROBLOX for the same reason.
Edit: I wonder; What would be the expenses or complications having iDEAL? Does it cost lots of money? Or is it hard to implement?

Yes please. I dont have paypal nor a debit card. It feels really weird to me to ask as a 17 year old for my parents to help me pay something. But more payment options would be better in general, as it will increase revenue for roblox.
The goal of Roblox is be international, and we want to support as many currencies and payment options as possible. We have a team dedicated to hopefully solving issues like this. I have no timeline as to when things will get solved, but it is being worked on!
But in the Netherlands this isn’t possible on ROBLOX, as iDEAL isn’t here.
