Ive started working on a game that combines all the popular catorgories atm(idle sim, building). Ive made my own boid script to enable players to build their own drones and kit them out with mining equipment/weaponry but still dont know how I should go about giving the players building components and if they should lose them.
please read the post, i am using boids, cloning a tool is no problem for me.
Im on about as in a general, do they buy the items from as shop or do I make them craft the items
If you want the game to be more towards idle sim, I would suggest just using a general currency, while if you want an older audience then crafting would probably be a better choice
Think its still worth having some elements of crafting or just sticking to currency as a general rule?
Edit: It is like a idle sim but im planning to add custom coding for players that can script to program themselfes as well.
Thats sounds advanced, so I would suggest having some elements of crafting to make the game a bit more “interactive” (Since I would only use general currencies if my target audience arn’t meant to think much when playing the game)
