Ideas for horror enemies

i’m making a doors-based horror game and i could use some ideas for enemies. the game is based around being in a hospital and getting stuck in a never-ending type room/door after door. i’m just looking for some challenging enemies to come across during your playthrough kind of like the enemies in doors that you come across randomly.

my initial ideas that i have now are just some little gremlins or something that are harmless but they can jump out of vents and scare you type of thing. maybe have a guy that can run through the doors you’ve already been through and try to find you. stuff like that.

anything helps thank yall.

So, before you start creating monsters I’d recommend making some lore for your game, as the lore can impact what kind of monsters you might have!

For instance if the lore was something like (yes this is a basic example) people doing experiments on people, the monsters could be disfigured humanoid figures, and they would act in hostile manners in order to be free.

So uh yeah if we had some backstory or smth like that, it would help tons!
:]

Ideas I just came up with.
Some kinda ghost creature that basically justs stalks you up too a certain point, before attacking you, of which from stalking you learns how you play, and adapts to it. Which would probably be hard to make, but would be really cool

Quick time event monster. A quick time event pops up, if they fail, death.

Something that makes itself look weak or injured, asking for help, but if the player gets close, they get attacked.
(Pretty sure it’s called a nymph, don’t quote me though)

The snail meme. A snail is following the player, if the snail touches the player, they die.

A Medusa type thing. The thing shoots a tractor beam where it is looking, if the player is in the beam, they turn to stone.

Hallucinations. A monster appears in front of you, and you character starts shaking and holding onto their head. A mini game pops up that the player has to play, if they fail, the monster kills them.

Just a few ideas.

Lore can greatly effect monster design. For example: outlast trials. The story is very similar to this:

They are all humans and they look very destroyed and mutant.

Weeping Angels. You ever watched Doctor Strange? It’s kinda like that statue SCP.

You could add npc’s that look like zombies with pale skin.

These are basically ghost-possessing creatures that were once one of the patients and were not evacuated when the hospital was shut down.

do you mean doctor who (random sentence to reach the 30 letter minimum requirement)

Yeah you’re right lmao, but mechanics involving the camera are fun in general
