Ideas to add in my shop?

Hello! I’m glad to say that my Shop System is now working i guess, and now, i want to make the items to my shop, here are the categories:

-Pets
-Perks (Tools which gives you a boost)
-Gears
-Skins
-Gamertags (Obtainable by getting survivals)
-Trails/Auras

So, i already have some Pets added, but i dont know what i can add to the other categories, any idea is accepted and i will try to add it, @DevNetCheese, you might want to see this . I hope someone respond me :slightly_smiling_face:

What type of game is it? A simulator, a tycoon, a minigame, open world etc.?

Is this the game concept? Try not to make too many non-cosmetic items, it may discourage non-donor players to play because they’re losing to people with items you need to pay to get.

@Lodok3YT You can see the link that Madchap32 left, that’s the game that im making (a basic game with rounds of minigames, bosses, protect the statue, and more). Btw, i accept everything, doesn’t matter if the pet/skin is an unicorn, i will try to add it or if my team likes it.

@Madchap32 Yeah it is, what do you mean with non-cosmetic items? I can’t understand correctly. Do you mean that i should not make everything buyable with robux? Well, i will never try to do that, since i dont have robux, i feel what other players feel about. Actually, if i get robux from my game, i will try to spend it more on the game development than my team’s choice. Also, i just need ideas to add in my shop.

Also, i just added 3 possible new skins:

And some pets (There are more pets than do you think by looking at the image)

Any suggestion? I should add something or remove? Thanks!

Non-cosmetic items would be anything that affects the gameplay, not just the looks of something, such as the skins that you’ve made.

Perks are buyable with a special currency which cannot be bought with robux, and is obtanaible by leveling up. I hate Pay2Win games and always i’m thinking about players.

Well, what should i add in my shop?

Add custom hats maybe and tags such as, [SURVIVOR], [SPECIALIST], [TECHNICIAN] and more that unlock with the level you are at.

@Conejin_Alt Sorry, I just now seen this

Well, you do have all the main parts down. I do think you need to make two shops.
Pet shops/Trails and Auras that share a shop
Gears/Perks share a shop
Skins/Gametags also share a shop
Or

Pets/Trails and Auras/Skins
Gametags/Perks/Gears

Which I do think you should remove the Trails and Auras I do think these are just stuff you don’t need within this game it just won’t fit. (Useless the Trails are going to be for the pet’s just a idea).
As well try to make so they have to get to some type of level to unlock stuff.

I agree with @DevNetCheese in that the auras are kind of not needed. In most games auras either give boosts or are purely decorative, and since you also have pets, gears, skins, and perks, they’re kind of superfluous to the overall concept. Sometimes, ESPECIALLY when it comes to what to sell in your shop at first, less is more. I would encourage you to figure out what each different category will give the player overall. For example, will pets merely be cosmetic, or will they boost the players stats? If they’re just cosmetic, then the perks need to boost stats, but then what are the skins and gear for? They’re repeating the same job as perks and pets, and in that sense really aren’t needed.

I think a good example of this phenomenon in a ROBLOX game(Halo 5/Battlefront II springs to mind outside of ROBLOX) is texting simulator. When it first released, you could get either phones or, after playing for a while, you could buy tablets. Phones would give you lots of texts, but tablets would give you diamonds as well as texts(diamonds being the premium currency). Leveling up your phone allowed you to get more texts, and more diamonds with tablets. After a while, however, the developer started adding in extra cosmetic items, like backpack decals to give you more texts, and eggs to unlock pets to give you(guess what) more texts. As a result, people began focusing on grinding either the pets or the decals in order to get the best bonuses, and it became a sea of floating pets in a short amount of time. As you can see from the above example, having two shop items that complete the same purpose will cause one to become redundant and the other to become overbearing. Having just one negates this problem(another example in this particular game was the introduction of computers as well as tablets and phones, but if you want that I can DM it to you).

I would strongly suggest starting with just two of those categories, and then if demand wants it build from there with the others. Hope this was helpful! Good luck with your project!

That requires save more data, which is hard for me… But what do you recommend me as hats?

Maybe a top hat, a sunflower, a teapot, things like that.
