Hello I’m Ryxku and today I discovered an AI-generated music in the toolbox uploaded by DistrokidOfficial in Audio in the trending page, and it saddens me that nobody noticed it.
I’ve known Suno for almost 1 year now, so I’ve got a good ear for recognizing real sounds from AI-generated sounds. I used it a lot to experience.
Personally, I don’t use AI-generated sounds because of the lack of authenticity and unclear copyrights when it comes to AI.
If possible, I’d like to suggest adding a small logo with “AI” written next to the title to distinguish them from real sounds. Because drowning new developers with AI-generated sounds is really bad for creating good content.
I’m sure some people would like to be able to filter out AI-generated toolbox sounds too.

The actual implementation of this would likely be a user-defined tag or disclosure for the asset. Maybe not disclosing it being against TOS.
The post’s title having “identify AI-generated music” suggests an AI model guessing if a song is AI-generated. I don’t think that should be the solution as that has false positives that could outweigh the “good.” I guess so does self disclosure.
I understand that my title is not pleasant, it is not even the first of the post because it is a modification because I wanted a shortened and clear title.
A nicer idea instead of checking with a bot if a sound is AI or not, would be to let people put notes below an asset to give context if it is important. A bit like Twitter/X’s Community Posts feature.
Sorry, I used the wrong wording when describing the title. It’s not insinuating, but more so suggesting a solution. I’ve edited my reply with that in mind. To clarify, I hear your issue of not wanting to use AI-generated music, and wanting a way to filter it out. I think that’s valid.
There is a Review system for assets in the marketplace/store, but I don’t think most check that.
The uploader is the account for DistroKid, a music distribution platform. It seems to be an automatic connection thing (-and not a real person who would read the Reviews-) based on the announcement here: Amplify Your Experiences with New Music.
Roblox does not require distributors to explicitly state that the song was made using AI. Personally at @Clippsly we do not allow AI generated music to be delivered to Roblox (since February 10th), however I have no idea what rules does DistroKid have on their own.
I would love to know official stance on AI generated music by Roblox, however I don’t expect such any time soon.
It’s something that distributors themselves have to apply, a big example I can give to you is Symphonic’s new AI disclosure requirements.
This is a great idea. I want to ensure my game is free from any generative AI. Roblox should require developers and artists to tag their content and assets with “created with the help of generative AI”.
Definitely suno. My school recently made a “song” with suno as their theme. I immediately recognized it as suno when i heard the vocals. It’s just a specific tone in the voice and it sounds very scripted.
This is AI if you listen carefully, the image of the youtube video is also AI generated, if you listen their other musics, you can notice a different voice each time. There’s no singer credited too.
This music can be generated by Suno with the 3.5 model version (It’s free).
thats udio, you can hear the vocals are not in mono. also the synth is kinda typical for ai generated music to generate.
edit: i think it was suno + udio, because the synth is from suno, mean while, the vocals were on udio. both ai still bad at mixing music
The topic of artificially generated music is complicated currently. Let’s take a look at the Berne Convention which grants the ownership rights in all of the 181 member countries, however it applies to people, not machines. So if we’re speaking of ownership of generated tracks, they’re technically owned by no one, which automatically puts them up in the public domain.
Chatgpt isnt a person. Also chatgpt wasnt an audio generator… it was a language model that only works with text. not generate with audio.
Although they can “generate” audio, they were given tools to do so.
Like the implementation of dall e on chagpt, they were just a function that the LLM (ChatGPT) can call. ChatGPT only generate them using text, like prompting (or “hiring”) another guy to draw an image based on your description.
I often see people cant tell the difference between ChatGPT and suno, theyre completely different ai with different architecture… One only generate text, and the other generate audio/music.
And its frustrating to see people think that ChatGPT can generate audio purely on their own…

The names feel sketchy too so I have a big suspicion this is all just ai generated.
