If you delete parts and press the undo button the parts don't appear back again

Let’s say that I build a stage for an obby. Now let’s delete some parts from that obby and hit that undo button. The parts that you deleted never come back and you can’t get them back again.

I think what’s happening is for some reason, sometimes selecting a Model in Workspace keeps it selected in explorer then when you drag and select parts from another model in workspace and delete those parts something happens. It has something to do with models not deselecting in explorer or something else.

Expected behavior

The parts or objects selected should come back if you deleted them after you hit the undo button.

What Happens: Part, Delete Part, Undo Button, Parts still gone

What Should Happen: Part, Delete Part, Undo Button, Part Comes Back

To add on to this if you are building with models in the Workspace they will not deselect from the explorer even if you click off of it. I have to select another one and click off it over and over to prevent this from happening. Multiple different models can be selected in the explorer at the same time. If you delete a part or a model while another model is still selected in the explorer and you hit the undo button the things you deleted will not come back (will not undo the deletion)

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox Studio.

I just lost a bunch of models because of this bug, and it’s almost devastating. :smiling_face_with_tear:
This really needs to be fixed

This has been bothering me for months and seems to have gotten worse these last couple weeks.
It’s gotten to the point where objects will rarely ever undo if deleted and even some properties have started failing to undo recently.

“CollisionGroup” and “Volume” for Sounds are a couple examples I encountered just yesterday.

This is a highly disruptive bug that I’ve experienced a few times now. Each time that I’ve experienced this issue, I was in team create for what that’s worth. Luckily, if you experience this issue in team create, then you can use version history to act as an undo. You might lose a bit of progress, but it’s better than losing it all depending on how much was deleted.

@Focia19 do you know if the new improvements to explorer fix this?

Just experienced this (in team create). Deleting stuff, and they don’t come back when hitting CTRL + Z.

I don’t know or have this information, unfortunately!

I will let the engineer assigned to the ticket update you when the issue will be fixed!

Sorry for the inconvenience!

do you know anything about Unable To Delete Models

The only information I have is that the ticket is opened and assigned to an engineer.

Also, the priority of the ticket was raised last week, so I’m expecting some efforts from the engineer in fixing the issue soon!

Thank you for your patience!

I’m not sure if this is a new issue or if it is related to this bug, but when deleting a model containing meshparts and re-doing it, the meshpart IDs are all empty?

Been experiencing this issue as well, my entire map is now a bunch of empty meshparts with no ids which isn’t exactly ideal

this also affects unioning, intersecting or negating. is very annoying. it just blocks the function.

Still happens to me aswell, so far only noticed it while deleting mesh parts in teamcreate
