You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:
What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
I don’t know if I messed something up, or it’s a bug, but I really want to fix this, IK makes animating soo much more easier
What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible! Desktop 2023.09.11 - 14.32.46.04
IK works for some of the body parts, but for others like upper torso, it only works like every 20 times you add another rig, and even then it only works for the first time you move it
What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?
I tried removing the rig and adding a new one like 8 times, I tried messing with pin mode, I tried restarting the editor, I restarted studio and reinstalled studio. I also looked through the forum and I didn’t find anything that fixed my issue
For some reason lower body parts rotate towards the wrong direction, on top of being able to move them
Could you please repost this in the Bug section, or if you don’t have access to it, notify Bug Support? This will help other users find the resolution of this issue.
Unfortunately I have been unable to reproduce the issue. Can you give us more info about what you did prior to that issue? Did you manipulate the rig in any way? Add/delete parts?
Can you give us more info about your platform as well?
I don’t have access to the bug section right now, but I’ll go ahead and notify bug support.
For the other question, I just freshly created that experience, made a quick animation and then this started happening. When I made the first animation IK worked just fine, but when I mirrored it with a plugin and published both versions, it broke.
I don’t know why I didn’t try this, but I created another place, and it worked there, so it must have been the plugin I guess? I’ll just have to make the animations in a placeholder place then.
Okay I tested a little bit more in the new place I created, and even after using the plugin on an animation it still worked? I’m guessing this was just a one time bug or something.
I’ll mark this bug as resolved as far as I am concerned, but I’d like to ask you a favor
Could you send me more details (a private message is fine, we don’t want shaming!) about what plugin you used, what you did with it, etc? Maybe we can figure out how it broke the rig, and possibly add some validation tests so we can either fix the rig automatically - if it is recoverable -, or warn you immediately when you open it.
Also, if you can determine with 100% certainty there is a correlation between that plugin and the IK issue, I’m sure the plugin’s developer would love to hear about it!
