That looks like it would be on the app store!
I havent played Celeste before, but I really like this game. Its a 10/10 from me
holy is this roblox??
jokes aside this game looks really amazing and it does remind me a lot of celeste and those sort of game, one thing that i noticed is that it looks like the characters walking backwards a lot of the time and that sorta looks a bit off but other then that it looks amazing
Thank you, and yeah the walking animation is a bit wonky right now but I’ll try to fix it.
The only thing I don’t love there that it’s 2D in 3D space. (Bc there’s force field at spawn).
But other things are good.
I made a version using screen guis but I determined that it would be easier to use billboard guis.
Here’s the screen gui version. I used the Roblox video recorder so the movement looks rigid but it’s not like that in game:
robloxapp-20231102-1412002.wmv (2.7 MB)
the only way i can tell this is roblox is by the forcefield which I do recommend disabling, but this is very very very good
I think it’s crazy to see something like this made in Roblox, since 2D games are so far and in-between. I’d say it has a great amount of potential, and since 2D games are so rare you don’t have to really worry much about making the game all that unique; It’ll receive attention/praise just for being 2D. You should definitely keep developing it
with me not even 100%-ing Celeste and it already being one of my top 5 favorite, this already looks really good! great job on the visuals.
Devlog #1: 2D Platformer Game
Hello everyone! I’m excited to share that I’ve resumed work on my 2D game. This post marks the beginning of this devlog series, where I’ll be keeping you updated on the latest progress and upcoming features.
Recent Updates
I’ve made several improvements and additions to the game:
- Character Animations Fixed: The character animations have been fixed. The movements now look smoother and more natural.
- Camera System (WIP): A new camera system has been implemented to follow the player’s movements better.
- Double Jump and Dash: The player can now double jump and dash.
You can check out a video of these new updates here:
Once the core mechanics are done, new stages will be added and I’ll start working on the storyline.

Niiicee! This game looks awesome!
I’ll be keeping up with the log and giving constructive criticism and general tips if I can.
Good luck on your project’
I’ve implemented wall jumping, sliding, an after-image effect and a camera shake for the player’s dash. With these mechanics in place, I’ll now shift my focus to developing the storyline and designing the levels. You can playtest the game here: [Game]. I’d love to hear your feedback on the mechanics!
Very nice and smooth, it doesn’t feel out of place and doesn’t look it either.
Good work!
