I have been working on a game and I need to add some paintings to make the game more immersive, I’m just wondering am I allowed to use any image off of google? Or do I have to get a licensed image and pay for it? Any support will be helpful. Thank you.
Depends on the image, the author, its license, whether or not your game will be a source of revenue, etc. Images on google can be copyrighted, it even tells you that “This image may be subject to copyright” so you need to find the original and look into its license, and if it has no license then it is protected by copyright law and you can’t use it without explicit permission from the owner.
