Implemented PBR to a previously made helmet!

UPDATE : i figured out something about increasing the specular for metalness and roughness. its looking way more amazing right now !

as you might know. roblox announced pbr beta release hours ago. the update includes normal/roughness/metalness/albedo (texture) maps.
not gonna lie. i got too hyped for this that i wanted to use a previously made asset i made a while ago. i used this specific helmet since its all metal and a perfect one to use.

it was originally hand painted but then i decided to add few pbr touches with some roughness reflections and increased the metalness of the original texture. then imported all maps to roblox studio and did a little scene using the “future” technology.

This version is the handpainted one.

And now for the review :

regardless of the compression limit that roblox has (1024x1024 while the original pbr maps were 2048x2048). it is doing a great job if used corretly with a clean uv unwrap. Suprisingly enough. roughness map actually appears very well ingame. as well as metalness. it changes how the model looks right after you import it. and ofcourse the normal map. it deforms the asset correctly and even small details are appearing with the resolution limits.

in conclusion : amazing update from roblox ! this is gonna change the game to the better right now.

definitely looks more realistic and better than the normal texturing we have. Cool helmet.
