This makes me sick. It’s literally a nothing burger of a response, and for a company that doesn’t often deliver on updates- the lack of information here hurts to see. The community asked several different approaches, such as ensuring all experiences that don’t make the mark at least be turned to 18+ games so their legacy can still be played. While this is great for maintaining a DAU and so it doesn’t get affected, it provides little to no data on what kind of experiences we should expect to be playable in correspondence to ages they’ll be set to, and doesn’t gurantee after this update that they’ll be playable at all.
This should apply for any new experiences. All old ones should be marked 18+ if they do not make the mark as elligibility as a “Classic”, or an old / unmaintained experience. By removing playability and accessibility, it destroys individuals attempts at preserving, reviving and creating new and improved games based on old classics.
Instead of removing playability of thousands of noteworthy experiences, improve your safety systems to be able to detect what is an innapproprite experience. If it remains on your platform, that’s gross negligence to the guidelines and TOS on Roblox’s part, and instead of removing the problem and a bigger issue at large, it bandaids the issue with something that doesn’t stop innapproprite content from showing as of right now.
This doesn’t stop the problem with safety. All it does is block children from playing these games through the play button. And yet, still allows this gross material to be seen through the search. Absolutely consider new alternatives than what you are doing here, and once again.
