Hello, I’m importing a magic wand mesh to Studio. It has different colors than shown in Blender and I exported it as a .obj file. I’m not sure if it’s just the texture, but what I did was get a color palette sized to 1x6 and make the faces of the model tiny to fit them into the colors.
The colors weren’t like this the first time I imported it, they were the right colors. I opened Studio and it failed to load the mesh, and only started doing that after. Is it a bug?
Any help is great!
How big is the texture? This might not be the problem but Roblox could have resized and averaged the colors. If you make the texture smaller that could fix the issue.
The texture is 1 pixel by 6 pixels (1x6) and each pixel has 1 color. I thought maybe it was how small the texture was that was messing with it, however, I made a few other meshes with the same method and they don’t have this problem.
When You Export It From Blender Try To Use FBX (That What I Mostly Use To Upload My UGC Items To Roblox Studio) And Sometime When You Export It From Blender Try To Make It Small Because It Makes It Big In Roblox Studio If You Can
Just in case I’ve also tried sizing up the texture to 30 by 180 pixels, it’s still the same problem. I may have to just remake the mesh since I’m not sure what’s wrong.
Do you think it could be your lighting settings? Try putting in a different texture Id to see if it’s the mesh or the texture that’s having the issues. Have you tried using a surface appearance?
Hey, tried re-importing the mesh and texture separately and it seems to be working now! I had to change the color palette since using the same one would not work for some reason. I don’t know what it was but it was not the lighting settings because I also tried re-importing on a new baseplate and it only uses TextureID. Maybe the colors were too close together? I could only assume that it was a bug. Thank you to everyone for all the help.
