Wait, i thought Roblox no longer uses the animal spin verification. Everytime I was prompted with the captcha, it always says to click on an image (e.g. Star and Cone)
No, Funcaptcha is much more secure than HCaptcha.
The only way to bypass Funcaptcha is to have a human solve it. There are sweatshop services that sell the solving power of low pay workers for captcha solving. Here is an example:
The bots mostly use this service to solve the captchas. This effectively makes it so that it’s more expensive to mass bot things which Roblox secures with a captcha. However sometimes bots get lucky and don’t get a captcha at all, this is how captchaless botting works.
We can clearly see that Funcaptcha is the most securest of these captchas. For example Funcaptcha is the only captcha which employs hard to solve 3d puzzles for captchas, image based captchas like the ones which google use are much easier to solve.
Funcaptcha is also very secure againts headless browsers, it uses a custom obfuscation engine which unlike other captchas is very dynamic and near impossible for headless browsers to simulate. They also do a lot of other stuff which I’m not going to list here that makes it better for Roblox.
For example funcaptcha takes a lot more time to solve than other kinds of captchas
Yes, they can still be bypassed, if a human solves it, but all captchas have such a vulnerability. But they are the best choice that Roblox really has.

I am trying to use the API and it is still impossible to solve the Captcha. It says I got something wrong when I did it all correctly.

It has gotten to a point where the Captcha system is straight up ridiculous.
This is another version of the captcha that pops up that requires you to pick 1 out of 3 options that sound like a crowd. ( Option 1,2,3 ). Ended up finishing the captcha CORRECTLY and this is what popped up. I can’t access my group holding account due to this.
The same can be said about this atrocity, the dice that have to end up to the number 14.
not only do you have to find the dice that count to 14 nonono you HAVE to do it 20 times. Meaning that if you get ONE wrong you are forced to redo it.
Oh and did I mention that even if you get everything correct that it won’t count it as correct? Yeah…
This is ridiculous, you can’t: post group wall announcements, make new accounts, login to other accounts of yours and even post a roblox support ticket…
In my opinion, we need a new captcha system, because this is unacceptable.

It’s funny how it says Audio Challenge. You need to complete a challenge to get into your account or even post a comment in a group. And needing to complete 20 math problems to do anything basically prevents kids from playing roblox. Luckly I haven’t gotten any crazy captchas recently!

Literally this! Discord uses hCaptcha and I’ve never had an issue.

With a VPN on, captchas are unsolvable even when answers are correct.
With a VPN off, no captcha is present.

Yes, if you have either an authentication system set up in your account or you have a phone number verification set up, you will be able to login back. I was unlucky that day for some reason ( even though I had all the requirements ).
I also tried using other browsers and even going the extra step as logging from a different device, which worked without a captcha surprisingly.
Im currently locked out of my account because the verification is trying to make me do a ton of math problems with dice and the equations its giving are not adding up to the number it wants as a answer i seriously don’t understand the point of these verifications there is still bots on the website and bot accounts getting made every second.
From what I can see, Roblox is taking a “better safe than sorry” approach, but in turn makes it harder for, even grown adults, to complete the captcha easily. There are easier Captcha solutions out there (ReCaptcha, hCaptcha etc) that are easy to solve, but no, it’s the hardest one, and for what? Doing a DNA test to prove you’re not a robot would be easier than 20 captcha quizzes in a row that if you get even one wrong, you have to start over.

They should make it so that if you get one wrong it thinks you’re a human because, in fact, that will prevent even more bots.
What worries me is that the number of captchas I have to solve increases when I enable my VPN.
This implies that the captcha service that fortifies ROBLOX either has a list of VPN IPs with which to double-check, or that somehow I’m being fingerprinted and that my IP doesn’t align with whatever information has made up the fingerprint.
This captcha is ridiculous, I just want to log in.

I got one where it was asking me for the last experiences I played. I have 2FA. I understand Captchas, but full on “What experiences have you played in the last week” is just such a nuisance.
Sure, the extra security is there, but what if little Timmy got Roblox and got locked out of his account because he doesn’t remember the games he played? I doubt person under the age of 9 would remember what games they played, they just play them.
Seriously Roblox, tone down the Captchas, you literally make it hard just to log into a Roblox account.
