It appears these CAPTCHAs are Roblox’s main solution to botting. Simply they are attempting to make it more cost prohibitive and more complex to automate actions (bot) such as joining groups, posting comments, visiting places, attempting logins etc. This approach is creating a lot of friction for regular users and is not an effective solution to the botting issues.
These captchas are far too complex for some users and therefore prohibit genuine users from using the platform. Furthermore, the individuals running these bots have found ways to bypass the CAPTCHAs entirely by:
A . Programmatically automating the CAPTCHA-solving process.
B. Hiring individuals or services to solve them (using services like “DeathByCaptcha” or “1stcapcha”).
C. Accessing Roblox in such a way they aren’t given a CAPTCHA in the first place.
A more effective solution could be the implementation of behavioral biometrics and the utilization of machine learning. Behavioral biometrics allow you to create a unique fingerprint for each user by analyzing patterns: scrolling habits, navigation choices, mouse movements, keystroke movements (speed, shortcuts used and advanced keys), touch screen behavior (screen pressure, size and area), device movements (gyroscope and orientation). With these data, you are able to create a unique finger print for each individual no matter the account they are on - further compounded with other user and device information*. Then machine learning can be utilized for finding abnormalities (or based on other predefined metrics for undefined fingerprints). Thus detecting botting and potential account theft or fraud to then require further verification or the action denied.

These captchas are an eyesore now, can’t even appeal a moderation action because I get faced with this horrible captcha.

I don’t even know what you’re talking about. I don’t need a captcha to do anything.
There aren’t enough captchas on Roblox. I can do anything without them. How are you guys getting so many? Posting on a group wall?
This is still an issue. I’m infuriated and can’t say what I want to here or I’ll be banned. Had to do TEN of these to login to my account…

Mine is so much worse. Because of how long this captcha is, I almost couldn’t log into my Roblox account.
I do NOT think 20 steps are necessary to log into an account. I did it once, but it said, “An unknown error occurred. Please try again later.”
That took me 20 minutes, by the way. Their captcha system is out of hand.

I got one where none add to up to the designated numbers. Not the dice game though…
I’ve just gotten a captcha while logging on to one of my accounts, where I was required to match orbitals of icons with the number orbital. Some of the logos on there just do not exist, therefore making the captcha not difficult - but literally impossible.

this is genuinely frustrating.
i wanted to login to my account on the website since i logged out days prior, and i got this:
i just want to log in to the website. why do i have to do 20 captchas just to log in?
i tried logging in to my various alt accounts, and the same thing happens. i can log in on the app just fine.
we need a fix for this ASAP.

THE FIX FOR THIS IS TO USE THE AUDIO CAPATCHA. The other one will always be impossible.
This is way too frustating. I had that captcha, having 20 images, some years ago. Unbeliveable.
Bro the audio captcha is still like 8 long and sounds demonic 
Just had one, what the heck were they thinking making these captchas?
Just had the new captchas where you have to count the number of rocks in stacks.
Absolute insanity, you cant even SEE some of the rocks because they are hidden behind navigation buttons. You have to open the images in new tabs in order to properly count it all.
And 10 of them every single time? And if you get even a single one wrong you have to redo an additional 10??? I’m sorry but it’s absolute insanity.
Why roblox doesn’t use hCaptcha or reCaptcha? What problem? FunCaptcha is the worst captcha, and nobody uses it on their services.
Bro I am in class and have nothing else to do and I cannot log into my Roblox account because of the impossible captchas… Like what does this even mean… I aint a kid either, imagine a kid trying this…
And 6 of them is crazy… This is worse than the rotating balls going the right side up…
I had encountered a captcha today that had me logged out for a good 20 or 30 minutes just trying to solve a 15 step captcha that failed multiple times.
I know it’s not great to impart too much frustration in these posts, but to put it lightly I was seriously questioning if I was going to be able to work on an important update or not tonight. If I wasn’t a developer who’s career depended on this I’d have moved on to play something else. There’s no words to describe how rediculous I found this.
Edit: And to double as a post for those with accessibility issues, like hearing impairment, this is just horrifyingly ruthless. I can’t claim to speak for those with such impairments, but I can’t imagine it’s a good time for them.
