I have a race track that I made for an upcoming game, however, the area surrounding the track is too bland, in my opinion.
What are some ideas that I should add to the area around the track?

It is quite undetailed. I suggest adding barriers and striped. More detailed garages and more environmental additions.

You should add a fence around the track, so it’s not so easy to get off course. You should also add a finish line, and starting line for it. One other thing you should add is road lines, right now it’s not that detailed so I’d suggest adding more trees or a few buildings around the track.

To be honest, it’s main issue in my opinion is the lack of height. Maybe try adding some triangle terrain around the course to make it feel more authentic, and it might even make the track more fun.

In addition to all the suggestions above, it would be great if you consider adding some rocks, benches, flowers in the empty grass areas. In my opinion, it would for sure improve the overall looking of the whole map.

People are suggesting fences around the track, but when do you ever see a fence around a race track? You normally would put tires all around the race track to act as barriers. I know that in race tracks, the ones you see on TV, have a huge fence but for what I see for your track, there is no spot for the audience. If there is no spot for the audience then you can just add tires all around the track. If you feel like tires are not the thing, then you could do this:
Though doing this kind of style will get your players to lose control and ride off the race track. If you put invisible walls there, it wouldn’t be as legit of a barrier unless tires were used.
Normally there isn’t much things around a race track. If you look at reference images on google, it’s normally just a blank space. Some tracks though, fill the blank space with vegetation. So for you, add trees 
, since you want to fill that blank area. Trees, bushes, flowers, would be perfect.

I suggest actually using a source material to reference from. For instance the Albert Park Circuit or the Bahrain International Circuit. It will help you improve the quality and realism of your track.
