Haunted Homecoming: Part 1

  • Use the new event currency, Scares
    • The Spooky Spectacles shop has been set up in the lobby for you to spend your Scares
    • Buy the Halloween characters directly at this shop
    • You can see how many Scares you have above the missions board
  • Normal rounds are replaced by Spooky rounds
    • Frightened Pumpkins are hidden around the maps for thieves
      • Can be found at preset locations
      • Many different possible spawns
    • Ghost Pumpkins spawn floating around the maps for cameras
      • Thieves cannot steal these, laser them to collect them
      • Randomly spawn above NPCs
    • Both of these special pumpkins give one Scare when collected
    • Supply Runs and Anomalies spawn during the round

General

  • Local camera laser sounds are now overridden as “nearby” sounds in the subtitles
  • The Halloween soundtrack is back (with new songs too)
  • System chat messages are now much more clear

Lobby

  • The lobby and shops are decorated for Halloween

Shops

  • Added three new LIMITED-TIME laser modules to the Black Market
    • They are Jack-o’-Lantern, Candy Corn, and Trick or Treat
    • Only available on a few random days during the event
    • Be sure to check the Black Market every day to find them
  • The Halloween Event rarity is back in the thief and camera shops
    • This rarity only gives you Halloween-specific event characters
    • Check the percentage boards to see what the chances are

Missions

  • “Play 100 rounds”
    • Now only 50 rounds
    • Gives $80,000 (from $150,000)
    • Lasts 4 days (from 5)
  • “Steal 10 special items”
    • Now only 5 special items
    • Gives $7,000 (from $15,000)
  • “Steal 10 golden items”
    • Now only 5 golden items
    • Gives $6,000 (from $10,000)
  • “Deposit loot 20 times” now gives $5,000 (from $10,000)
  • “Revive 10 thieves” now gives $5,000 (from $10,000)
  • “Steal 100 items” now gives $10,000 (from $20,000)
  • “Steal 800 items” now gives $30,000 (from $50,000)
  • “Down 10 thieves” now gives $5,000 (from $10,000)
  • “Use 20 abilities” now gives $2,500 (from $5,000)
  • “Play 5 rounds” now gives $10,000 (from $20,000)

Maps

  • Complex
    • Fixed some incorrectly ordered item stacks in the laundromat of Complex
    • Fixed some items being named incorrectly
    • Fixed the collisions of various items
    • Added more bounds clipping
  • Fixed School’s Graduation Day map event geometry not spawning when it should
  • Exhausting the soil in Farm’s greenhouse now makes Money Trees grow slower
  • Fixed the mirror in Police Station being unstealable

Special Missions

  • Anomalous
    • The more weight capacity effect now gives 1-2 weight capacity (from 2-4)
    • The round itself is out of rotation for now (see Spooky rounds above)

Thieves

  • Reworked Skelly
    • Now has a new ability, Keep It Together
    • When you are damaged, a bone flings out of your body
    • These bones can be picked back up later to heal back the damage you took
    • You start with 6 hearts
  • Reworked Great Pumpkin
    • Now has a new ability, Pump-Kin
    • When you use the ability, you place down a pumpkin
    • When cameras shoot near this pumpkin, they will be blinded with pumpkin guts
    • The blindness effect lasts for about 4 seconds
  • Reworked Scar
    • Now has a new ability, Consume
    • Consume an item and gain its weight as a temporary extra max weight capacity
    • Every six seconds, 20% of the buff from a given item wears off
  • Updated King Midas
    • Instead of doubling item value, it gives +100% of the original item’s value
    • In the vast majority of cases, this is still doubled item value
    • This is to help prevent stacking multipliers
  • Updated Plague Doctor
    • Players you revive will regain one life in addition to only getting one heart
    • Now passively has x1.5 revive speed
  • Grim Reaper now passively has x1.5 revive speed
  • Fixed Tony getting stuck when picking up items with constraints anchored to map geometry
  • Fixed Cole’s coal not making an explosion sound effect

Cameras

  • Lasers fired with Explosive Shot can now trigger camera interactions (if you aim directly at it)

Haunted Homecoming: Part 2

  • School has been ABANDONED and HAUNTED!
    • Vote on the Visit Haunted School special mission to return
    • After the school ran out of funding, the building was abandoned
    • Since then, it became infested with the paranormal and they aren’t too happy about visitors…
    • The thieves returned to the now decrepit school only to soon regret it!
    • You’ll want to keep your wits about you…
    • The normal School map is now out of rotation, even after the event

Shops

  • Updated the thief and camera shop percentages (only for the event)

Maps

  • Fixed some bounds clipping in Complex

Round

  • Improved the visuals of golden items
    • Textures and decals now change transparency
    • SpecialMeshes now become golden

Special Missions

  • Fixed Anomalies picking the “Surprise!!” effect when there are no cameras remaining
  • Fixed Anomalies bypassing characters’ health caps

Thieves

  • Updated Scar
    • Now gives you one half of the value of the item eaten
    • The weight capacity buff decay is slower
  • Fixed Private Brian’s reviving being broken
  • Added back Raven’s long lost tail feathers
  • Fixed Doug missing his ability sound

Halloween Homecoming

  • The event has ended, thanks for playing!
  • The city has taken down its Halloween decorations
  • The Haunted School special mission has been taken out of rotation
  • Normal and Anomalous rounds are back, and Spooky rounds are out
  • The Halloween exclusive laser modules are offsale
  • The map School is now fully out of rotation

General

  • System chat messages now use the notification system on consoles
  • Fixed various sounds not being affected by the SFX settings
  • Added a setting to enable/disable the Explosive Shot visual
  • Rebalanced thief and camera revive/down bonus scaling
  • Subtitles now update their direction while fading out
  • Updated the color of System chat messages
  • Added team color chat

Lobby

  • Display names are used when displaying selected cameras in the lobby and in the end results screen
  • You can hover over peoples’ names in the end results screen to show their @username

Maps

  • Fixed energizers adding map value on items that don’t normally add map value
  • The freezer’s cooler in Restaurant is now stealable
  • Added something funny to Mansion
  • Fixed a hole in a wall in Farm

Special Missions

  • Fixed Anomalies teleporting thieves into the void once again

Thieves

  • Fixed thieves sometimes being able to move around after dying
  • Increased Scar’s ability weight decay rate from 20% → 25%
  • Plague Doctor’s ability now only applies twice per thief

Cameras

  • Raised AFK warning and kick timer by 5 seconds each
    • Warning timer (10 → 15)
    • Kick timer (15 → 20)
