Alright so here’s the situation: I am working on a FPS and I’m designing the UI at the moment, however whenever I save my files I never know if the next time I open them I’ll get the last version I saved.
Here’s what I mean: The order at which I made this gui was like so- I made the Store layout, then the Crates Layout, then the Featured layout, and lastly I made the Cash layout. I saved the file.
Just now I opened the file, and everything is there aside from the Featured section, which is to say that even though I saved all 3 sections, and the cash section was the last to be finished- somehow the featured section was tagged not to be saved (and I know what you’re thinking, I most definitely did not set anything with Archivable to false.)
I’m positive I didn’t delete it, I saved it with the Featured Section still there
And although I agree it would be best to turn this into a repro case, I’m not sure how I’ll be able to reproduce it. I save every 2 minutes and I can’t reopen the place everytime i want to make sure it saved right
Thats why my main game has 3000 save files. I always save as because of numerous occasions where stuff didnt save and I got tired of it. I suggest you do the same, although you can delete files once you know youre good, I kept all 3000
I just save and publish every time I make every small change and before I test. That way if the files ever get corrupt I can rely on the ROBLOX revert version as backup.
What do you mean? I’m talking about uploading to a non-active place to act as a folder for the file, and then when a update is ready then updating the main place to the same file
It has nothing to do with DS? The constraint isn’t to use the same DS data, it’s to keep a consistent save
I guess you can do that, seems like a hassle if you have a large place file though, it takes me half a minute to upload. Just seems easier to save on your computer and publish when ready.
Yeah thats the problem though. It doesn’t save correctly for me 100% of the time. It would be nice, but it’s even more of a hassle to remake content or even large updates to scripts if they didn’t save too (and that has happened to me before)
EDIT: For example: Same situation as the GUIs, except a complete portion of a script was not saved even though I worked on items after that section.
