Support with my Place’s Moderation
Recently my account was forced to be re-activated cause my game’s place was moderated, however I failed to read what exactly was wrong as I was in a hurry to do something else.
The Issue with the Moderation
After I logged back on I finally noticed that it was infact my game was moderated, my game is called Election Simulator so I thought it was politics related, so I first checked my violations under my account’s Help and Safety but it wasn’t showing anything related to my game. Then I read through through ROBLOX’s guidelines on Politics, and my game wasn’t breaking any of it.
The solutions I’ve tried
I first used the Help and Safety to reach out to roblox, first telling them all the steps I’ve taken to avoid getting moderated since I knew politics is very delicate to talk about, and I outlined that I was unable to find the reason of moderation. ROBLOX simply replied by sending a link to my violations tab which I had already outlined to them I couldn’t see anything related on there, so I sent a second message telling them again what happened and how they incorrectly responded, but I haven’t received anything from them since, leading to me to ask for help on here from the community.
Important Details
Despite being called election simulator, my game features no real life flags, country names, party names, or party figures and I have disabled players from picking red or blue colours for their party, and their party names all go through roblox nonchatstring filtering on top of my own custom filtering to avoid irl names and special letters used to normally bypass filters. More importantly, I do not want to just re-upubload the game as players have made purchases in the game already and also I could very likely lose all the traction the game has recieved.
Thank you for the help on finding the reason, attached below is the message I recieved. I once again read through the community standards on Politics (It says Political Figures but it’s the only area on politics), and here is a checklist for every item in relation to my game:
Political figures in their official capacity, including: — No Real World Officials are in the game at All, including their slogans, campaign materials, names, etc.
Political entities, including:
Political parties, including official party-affiliated organizations — No Parties are included in anyway at all, and any attempts to customize your party to any relavant irl party is specifically filtered and blocked by my code.
Specific races for elected office — No specific races such as US 2024 Election, or any other specific election is referenced AT ALL (I learnt this mistake from the former 2 games of Presidential Election and Election 2024 which are now both banned.)
Desecration of political symbols, such as flag burning — There is none of this in the game either, no symbols are in-game and there are no flags in game at all, and in no way at all are any political entities desecrated.
Its alg, I’m also unsure if I can do anymore since if I just message roblox again, knowing them it will be registered as spam and I won’t get a response
Knowing your reason now I would submit a new support request asking for clarification on what specifically the issue was, just as you outlined in an above reply with how you think you’re not violating anything. I think there is also an appeals tool through creator hub that I think is supposed to be the preferred way to appeal things. I haven’t tried it myself so I’m unsure where exactly it is or if it applies to games.
Generally I wouldn’t suggest anyone else make games related to politics in any capacity due to complications like this.
Alright well I will attempt to launch another appeal through the creator hub and I will post here what has happened within a day or so. As for not making political games, yeah I wouldn’t do it, Grand Strategy Games like Rise of Nations and that is fine, but making a political game can work if you focus on making it roblox friendly, such as Oath of Office: Political Simulator. And also because of the lack of political games there is a large community for them with no games to play.
Basically, ROBLOX just ignored all of my messages I sent to them after the very first one (which they responded to incorrectly), I’m guessing it was all flagged as spam. So I proceeded to completely refurbish the game, removing even more signs of real life politics relations to the point where now there definitely is 0 and waiting on ROBLOX while I continue developing.
