As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to quickly bookmark posts relevant to me due to a Discourse update that imposes a limit to the amount of bookmarks allowed at 2000. With 2973 posts bookmarked, I have nearly an 1000 bookmark limit overflow and cannot bookmark new posts unless I remove nearly 1000 helpful posts from my reading list.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience using the forum because I can quickly bookmark posts from the forum software itself instead of needing to use my browser’s bookmarks/collections features in addition to migrating almost 3000 bookmarks. With bookmarks on the DevForum, I can scroll down the list and check back on posts I’ve marked for later reading seamlessly and if warranted, continue discussion on the thread as well.
I use the bookmark feature because it allows me to quickly bookmark posts without interrupting my reading experience and because typically I use my browser’s bookmarks to bookmark entire pages. I can also revisit posts relevant to my development at any point in time.
Agreed, I’d really like to see the limit increased. I, myself, bookmark many posts (thought not to the degree you have, with 1,042 bookmarks to my name) and it has this incredibly useful search feature:
Which means that I can just remember a key word in the post itself and immediately pull it up. Whereas with Google’s bookmark system I must mindlessly scroll through a list, on Discourse I can pull it up in a flash. I furthermore prefer bookmarking within the forum itself as this only looks for bookmarks within the forum and I can look and find a key word from the post. To summarize:

The ability to search through bookmarks.
The ability to see bookmarks specific only to this forum.
The ability to search using a key word form the post itself.
Bookmarks are incredibly useful. Please expand the limit so that I can continue using the system to come back to posts I found helpful or interesting. Once more, I myself have not hit the limit, but the day will come and that day will be a very annoying one.
Unfortunately Discourse doesn’t seem to offer any setting for this limit, there is only a setting for limiting the number of bookmarks per day. Since this is a core Discourse feature we’ll have to take this up with them once we get around to it (or you could file a feature request on their meta forum in advance of us and link it here).
