Increasing Visit Length

So I have this horror game I’ve been the sole developer of since 2015:

And before you tell me about the huge copyright infringement, I’m completely aware and I’m working to convert everything, but I am one person and it’ll take some time.

I was just wondering why players leave usually right after they join? I don’t know if it’s performance issues or if the game is just boring. Is it the lobby shoving purchases in peoples faces? I’m really lost and people tell me they like the game, so I’m not sure where to start in fixing the visit length.

Thanks

The feedback for Input is really slow when interacting with UI, doors, togging flashlights.

the Shop UI is barely functional, and overlapping each other.

There is no “Mute Sound” button , no “AFK mode” and I can’t even Reset if I don’t want to play because I’m inspecting your game

The “End Game” screen takes too much time to go away

the controls are weird why would you make “L” toggle flashlight instead of “F”? Keybinds should be customizable because right now the they are everywhere in the keyboard, Sprinting should have options of a Toggle or Hold to use

I shot the predator with 3 clips and he’s still alive, I don’t understand is he immortal?

As for why people aren’t playing as long as you’d like is probably because the game isn’t very fun and they don’t understand what is going on, the lobby is a bit tedious filled with R$ purchases,

They don’t seem different to me.

Typo

"to purchase items"

"Prices will also decrease"

That should be enough for you to see which direction you should take to move your game forward

first of all lobby is like gamepass market that shove gamepass in it as much as possible i got bored and almost leave and the timer broke too when i join im very confuse and dont know what the objective of the game is and the intermission gui is too long i think if there is tutorial or guide it would be nice and add some stuff to do in lobby like maybe a place where you can practice shooting and you earn point from shooting the target so there is reason to stay in lobby and remove those predater that standing in lobby its make player get very annoyed and leave

sorry if it seem to harsh thats all i have to say about your game.

Thank you so much! I will get to work right away!

Thank you! I’m gonna remodel the lobby and give players things to do.

This is known as player retention, a statistic for calculating the time a player joins the game, how much time they spent then how much time they spent playing the game after that day.

There are many factors affecting player retention, I can certainly say that there are some degree affected because of how your game is functioning(user interface, experience design, etc). However, I can confidentially say that these aren’t probably the biggest factor on decreasing player retention since players are here to play the game and aren’t exactly interested in small design details like the ones I mentioned above.

Predator doesn’t feel like an actual predator, when playing as human I look for and hunt the predator, it doesn’t feel right that way. Controls are awkward, you should keep the hotkeys in the screen, no human can remember too many things at once, especially when you only show it to them once.

You might be best if you collect telemetry to give hints on the root cause. The most important data it probably win rates, which team wins more often, seems that the predator rarely wins. I have a terrible computer and too much lag spikes for me.
