Inform us what information is needed from whatismybrowser.com

Relevant post: Bug Report Wizard Resources - #3 by Roblox

It is unclear what information is needed from whatismybrowser.com when making a bug report related to the website.

The main issue is that the generated link at the top of the page reveals somewhat sensitive information (ie. IP address and general location). If the entire generated link and all of its contents (including the sensitive information) is relevant in identifying an issue, it would be helpful to mention to add the link in the private information section of the bug report as to not reveal the aforementioned sensitive information publicly (people might not think to check what information is contained in the link).

If the sensitive information isn’t relevant, it would be helpful to know what information specifically is needed from this website.

The instructions, from what I’ve been seeing around in bug reports, are just sharing your browser information such as the browser you are experiencing the problem, its version, etc.

(An example I found)

CMIIW (Correct Me If I’m Wrong) but I don’t think that they need something much more specific than this… But, I do agree with having an observation note where if you find this scenario sensitive, from your perspective, you can send it privately instead of publicly.

The primary thing we care about is browser + version, the thing mentioned at the very top of https://www.whatismybrowser.com/.

I added a line to the post you mention to clarify:

For most scenarios, sharing your browser software name + the version of the browser is sufficient.
(e.g. “Chrome 42 on Windows 11”)
