Don’t know why Luke closed his, but here’s a remake I just remade. It features a fancy third-person shooter camera control I made for it, and I think it’s really nice.
The reason I made this is because I was frustrated with Hex for having crappy first person mouse sensitivity, where you couldn’t aim for jack at far targets. So I wanted to make a game with ADS (right-click for that, by the way) so you could actually, you know, shoot accurately.
Maybe this will be something bigger in the future. For now, instajib folks.
jumping is buggy (character flips out) and I found the solution: lower the power of the bodygyro.
the lasers stick around on the gun’s end for 1 second which is weird when moving
looking down then moving the camera inverts it (vertigo yo)
unequipping the laser is keeping your hands in the holding position
sometimes the character goes slightly invisible (but not the hats)
there’s no way to scroll up on the chat because our mouse is stuck in the middle (maybe add a Modal menu or something)
Likes:
the sounds and looks are good. I’m picky about how awful repeated lasers sound.
zooming in is nice and smooth.
Thoughts:
depth perception is hard especially on ramps; would like to see the point where the laser is going to end up with a secondary laser pointer
seeing names through fog and walls is a bit weird
it’s “Instagib” or “Instant Giblets” but I can see why you used “jib” so people don’t get confused with the pronunciation. However, I’d like to see robloxians turn into tiny cubes when gibbed.
New fog vs old brick fog:
this fog is a lot smoother, sure, but… since fog is drawn in a straight line (not a circle), in your peripheral you can see further. This is annoying when you see someone on the side but turn to look and then the fog covers them up in front of you. Stickmasterluke’s old brick fog didn’t have this problem (but it looked so bad lol)
one solution is to make sphere fog, locally welded to your HumanoidRootPart, with inverted ball meshes.
Btw here’s his updated version:

He deactivated the place within the couple months. o-o
I was not a fan of the arcing lasers though.

Lots of good feedback! I already fixed the buggy jumping, and Ill see what I can do about the rest. Thanks!
Shooting while next to a wall seems to make the ray go in the opposite direction and the song didn’t seem to start playing until a couple minutes of playing. Other than that, looks pretty good.
It is raycasted from the tip of the gun. That can happen sometimes. Also, I don’t really know what to say about the music. Maybe you came in when it was playing, and had to wait until it looped?
