Installer on macOS uses the old ‘ROBLOX’ capitalisation & more

  • There seems to be an oversight that both the installers of Roblox and Roblox studio on macOS refers to Roblox as ‘ROBLOX’.
  • Sometimes Roblox Studio’s installer reads simply ‘Configuring Roblox’, rather than ‘Configuring Roblox Studio’, as shown in the pic above.

Expected behaviour

  • The installers should use the new ‘Roblox’ capitalisation.
  • Roblox Studio’s installer should read ‘Configuring Roblox Studio’, such as below:

I have a mac and it always confused me a little when roblox studio updated and it said just “ROBLOX”.

Another thing very tedious: the update finishes and in most cases LOCKS THE APPLICATION IN THE DOCK.

By the way, the Mac installer was translated to other languages -where “ROBLOX” had the correct capitalization-, since a while ago it is only shown in English:

Considering the logo of Roblox appears to use capital letters for all 6 letters (albeit the second one having the O be tilted), I would consider both Roblox and ROBLOX to be interchangeable.

This does not negatively impact the experience of using Roblox Studio or the Roblox client in any way.

Appreciate the due diligence but I’m unsure why you chose to report a single string over functional issues that the team already struggles to keep on top of regarding the App, Studio and the Website.

Happy to be proven wrong though, as on the surface it’s as simple as digging into the right code and changing said text.

It used to have the correct wording but was strangely changed recently.

I actually thought about it before reporting. The last time someone reported something like this as a bug was in 2018, where a Roblox staff replied that they had kept a huge list of ‘ROBLOX’ to be changed to ‘Roblox’ (and they did change all of them).

They prefer it being spelt as Roblox with only one capital letter, so it seems quite outdated to reuse ROBLOX in the installers. It’s not consistent.

This is minute but I made this bug report anyways so it’s there for the staff to see.

Honestly, if this doesn’t have a bug report yet, then I might open one now. Roblox is the only app I use that locks itself on the dock when it updates… why do this??? It looks terrible too because, after 4+ years, they still haven’t updated to fit the rounded square scheme.
