Roblox is very carful when it comes to their economy, so could introducing (effectively) new currencies through in-game community markets be a liability for them?
The stock market tends to be considered a form of gambling. Community markets are very close siblings if not on the exact same level as the stock market(s), does Roblox have the capacity to relate the two? I have seen multiple games based on the stock market. Very rarely have i seen controversy on them.
Would Roblox take the time and effort to come to the conclusion that the idea must be shutdown?
If so, how could the community market concept be engineered to fit robloxs standards?
Thank you for reading, any research on this would be appreciated.
Sorry for mega late reply, the idea is that all purchases and economy would be circulated throughout our game with In-game currency. No exchange, no catch. Other than the purchase of the in-game currency with robux of course.
Judging from your reply, I don’t see any major issues with this idea. The only thing to consider now is what you’re actually selling in-game (primarily if you’re selling paid random items). I’ll just quote a section regarding this issue from Roblox’s Community Standards:
Paid random item generators include those purchased with Robux directly or via in-experience currencies that are purchased with Robux.
If paid random items are available in your experience, users may not trade or sell the resulting assets for Robux, real currency, or anything else of value on Roblox.
Creators must use the applicable PolicyService API to ensure paid random items are only accessible by eligible users.
The odds of receiving each possible resulting item must be accurately disclosed to the eligible user before the moment of purchase.
