Interacting with anything outside of Roblox Studio while editing a place causes extreme lag

I’m on a Windows 11 laptop, brand new, got it in December.

Info about my laptop:
OS: Windows 11 Home
Version: 23H2
OS Build: 22631.4751
Processor: Intel(R) Core™ Ultra 7 155H 1.40 GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB (15.5 GB usable)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU

Whenever I open a place in Roblox Studio it functions fine, until I interact with anything outside of studio. It then causes my entire computer to begin lagging, even after I close the application it will continue to lag until I forcefully shut down my laptop using the power button.

I’ve tried restarting, reinstalling Roblox Player and Roblox Studio, clearing both temp folders and leaving laptop fully off for a full day.

I cannot seem to find a single fix for this and it’s really frustrating.

This issue was not a thing when I first got my laptop, It only started recently, it originally was a rare occurrence but now it’s every time. I’ve preformed multiple virus scans and nothing has come up.

Here’s a video of the issue: https://youtu.be/_zRZeEEXqPQ

Keep in mind I didn’t have any other programs open when this video was recorded, except for my antivirus (Which I got after the issue already started so it’s definitely not the cause of it.)
No other applications on my computer have this issue, the Roblox Player functions completely fine too.

I’ve viewed task manager on the side when this occurs and there doesn’t seem to be a boost in memory usage from Roblox Studio.

I’ve tried with my antivirus disabled and enabled and it made no difference.

It would really help if this issue can be resolved, I’d like to be able to use Roblox Studio without walking on eggshells.

If anything else like more videos or info is needed, let me know.

I should note that this happens on ANY place, including a basic starter place or baseplate.

I’ve never seen such a bug before, and I assume it is a sort of system stability problem / compatibility with Roblox Studio.
Maybe you can try running sfc /scannow in cmd prompt as administrator. Windows should check all system files and repair corrupted ones. MAYBE it will fix your error, I don’t know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Trying this right now, thanks.

Upon doing this, cmd returned with “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.”

I’m gonna try studio on a fresh account without any plugins and see if it fixes it.

After trying on a fresh account it didn’t work either.

Something I didn’t mention in the post is that originally it was a lot worse, every time I would open a place it would instantly freeze my computer and even bluescreen sometimes. Downgrading from the Windows update version 24H2 down to 23H2 fixed it, eventually a few days later the issue started again, but then the issue stopped for a good while after I disabled all beta features, I was fine for a few days then it started again.

I’m not sure if this helps at all but it might.

Problem is still occurring and I haven’t been able to use studio for the past week, can anyone help?
