Interacting With Properties Window Sets Focus On Filter Text Box

Description
Certain actions (described below) cause the “Filter Properties” textbox of the properties window to become focused when interacting with unrelated buttons. Although this may seem relatively harmless, it causes major impediments to workflow. To exemplify, if a property is disabled and a user wants to move their camera via the w, a, s, d keys, all of those inputs are accepted as text rather than controls. Additionally, key commands are affected as well. Any time this property is triggered and a user wishes to undo via ctrl + z (or any other key command), the command is accepted into the textbox, rather than the game environment. As a result, affected users must select something elsewhere to remove focus from the textbox each time they perform an affected action.

Reproduction
100% reproducibility

Dropdown:

  1. Select any object
  2. Select a dropdown such as Data
  3. Note that the filter text box is now in focus

Toggles:

  1. Select any object
  2. Toggle any checkbox
  3. Note that the filter text box is now in focus

Expected Behavior
Filter text box should only be focused on when clicked.

Actual Behavior
Filter text box is selected when selecting a drop down to selecting a toggle.

You can work around this by not stacking windows like this:

I’m hoping to get a fix in soon now that I have a reproduction! Thank you!

Ok, turns out it is very layout specific. This exact layout will reproduce the error on both Mac and PC.

If you need a quick workaround try moving some of your windows around. I’m hoping to get a fixed soon.

Are you still able to reproduce this? I cannot reproduce even with the layout above.
