This post was created to aid players in starting up the PMR when GT: Internal Research Facility comes out. At this time it is still in development; the link will be shared when it may be accessed!
Welcome!
You’re probably here because, well, you’re having trouble starting up the PMR. Don’t worry, this short and simple guidebook got you covered!
First and foremost, what even IS the PMR?
The PMR, or the Plasmic Matter Reactor, is, well, you guessed it, a reactor that utilizes plasma to operate.
To operate, however, it has to meet those requisites:
- A fuel solution, generally present in the laser emitted by the Plasma Infusors.
- A low-pressure enviroment, adapted JUST right, as too low pressure would cause fusion to cease and too high pressure would cause the Thermal Stability to drop.
It is important to note that, during operation, the internal containment NEVER exceeds a temperature of 2600°C, as that would cause the pressure to start rising, and, therefore, causing the Thermal Stability to drop. NEVER let the Thermal Stability index reach ZERO.
So, how do we start it up?
It’s fairly simple, actually!
Primarily, set the Feedwater Loop Controls and the Plasma Injector Fuel Loops to ON/GREEN.
This ensures that the Plasma Infusors do not overheat, and, consequently, affect the Reactor’s operation significantly.
Secondly, calibrate the Catalyzers.
To do that, a string of numbers should be visible on the screen. You have to enable the knobs corresponding to that number. Remember that numbers won’t repeat.
For example, if i get the numbers 3, 7, 1 and 8, i have to turn the knobs marked as 3, 7, 1 and 8. It doesn’t have to be in order.
In the example image cited above, all of the correct knobs have been flipped and i can proceed. If you flip the wrong knob, all knobs will reset and the numbers will change, so be careful.
Then, flip the “Startup Prep 1” knob.
Once that’s done, an announcement should play, and the Control Logs screen will start dumping useless memory.
Once that’s complete, flip the “Startup Prep 2” knob, press the button and you’re done!
I hope this helps you start up the Plasmic Matter Reactor. Be sure to keep it stable, otherwise… consequences happen.
