Introducing: EzPet! [ UPDATE! ]

I bring you a new Pet follow system: EzPet!
A basic & easy Pet System for Players to utilise, allowing them followers with ease.

Disclaimer
This Module was designed for Pets that walk along the floor; Though “Flying” pets can still be mimicked using this Module.

Instructions:

Simply place the “EzPet” Module into ServerScriptService and the rest will be taken care of!

Pet Setup:

Creating a new Pet is rather simple!

Simply build your pet & ensure it is on-top of the green “Base” and that the HumanoidRootPart is welded to said base.
When resizing the base, ensure the shape is still a circle as this will determine the distance from the Player.

This is because it will attach to the Walker that allows the Pet to follow.

Once the Pet model is ready, Place it inside of “PetModelStorage”.
There’s no need to touch “Misc” or “Walker”.

Handy resource to have, thanks! Just curious, what features can we expect to be added in the future?

I’m hoping to eventually add Animation support; Pet Interactions; DataStore; Pet Selection etc.

what exactly will be datastored?

Collected / Owned Pets.

Can the pets walk up steps to follow the player?

I don’t know the structure of your module much, but I advise not doing this, it’s usually better for the person itself to set up their datastoring, I’ve used modules in the past which handled datastoring and it was quite annoying to move data to the main datastore (not being able to, before DS V2), player data is supposed to be saved all under one key for ease of setting up and speed / consistency, if you add a datastoring for such things then you are essentially encouraging people to use such feature which can become a problem later.

I recommend keeping this for pet physics, following, etc.

aw, thats nice i like it very much! for some reason from the video it looks like the thing is kind of weirdly rotating (sheep) but the zombie looks nice

Like so?

Next Update will include the ability to change Player pets in accordance with what the Player current has in their belongings / Inventory.

Ignore the models I use for testing. :joy:
