Introduction thread for new forum members

Hi, I’m GuestLostAcc! Happy to meet you guys

I found out about Roblox in 2015. It have been almost 5 years having a lot of fun in Roblox.

I started with development on the Roblox platform because of my curiosity. I never thought Roblox have a developer forum until i started searching the issues i encounter in Roblox Studio.

My current goal is starting to make my first game in Roblox platform.

Programmer is my role in the developer community because I’m trying to learn my first programming language which is Lua in Roblox platform.

I’m apologies if there is any grammar mistake since I’m not quite good as well in English :disappointed_relieved:

Hi! I’m yh8!

I originally joined in 2012, and I’ve been building since 2013! I’ve progressed a lot over the years and I’m glad to be apart of the community!

Recently, I’ve picked up Low-poly 3D Modeling (in Blender, of course) and I can’t wait to show you all what I can do and hopefully give and get some advice/tips from the community and make friends with some of you all along the way! <33

Good morning!

Watch out, this is a pretty long post.

How did you find Roblox?

Me and a close friend were very close to running out of games to play (happens every year) and so we were desperately searching for something new. A few days go by and I got a message from that close friend, linking to roblox. At first I was reluctant, as from the outside it really looked like something that only very young children would play. My friend kept playing it for a few weeks, but I refused to. Then, after 3 weeks being bored of only programming and watching videos, I gave in, and he showed me some games that were actually pretty fun. (around 2016-2017)

But originally, I saw a 6 second video clip of a super old roblox game in around 2012-2014.

How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?

Me and that same friend were getting bored once again, as we’ve tried and played through tens of One Piece games, and others. I was getting very frustrated with games, where I saw what could be improved, fixed, and made more fun, so out of spite I jumped straight into Studio and started writing code constantly for 4-6 days.

Of course I had no idea how to do anything, but since I knew a programming language before, it was easier for me to learn LUA. In the first two weeks all I did was re-write, analyzie, test, and repeat this process, to learn as fast as I can. Then I realized that I would instead make a Dragon Ball game, and not a One Piece game (the market was getting very full, and way too competetive for it to be my first released game).

I did open studio with that friend a year before this happened, but we only just messed around with free models and team-play. (Started developing seriously since 2019 before the beginning of summer.)

Current goals/achievements on the platform

Achievements:

  • Save System
  • Dynamic Stat System
  • Handmade Unique UI
  • Shop System
  • Inventory System
  • Skill System
  • Custom Health System
  • Ki (energy) System
  • Flight
  • NPC’s that follow you around, attack you, jump over obstacles, block, and are fairly efficient.
  • Character Customization (Not fully done)
  • Completely Unique “Realistic” Character Model (made in blender)
  • Leveling System
  • Other smaller things and things that I forgot

Goals:

  • Release my Dragon Ball game before the start of 2020
  • Reach 1 million visits
  • Reach 1 million favourites
  • Reach 100 million visits
What is your role in the developer community?

I do everything alone if we don’t count asking for directions. (Artist, Programmer, Modeller, Builder, Writer, Sound Designer, Animator, Music Composer, etc.)

Anything else you would like to include

I hope to be known as someone who came out of nowhere with an astounding game on Roblox.
I am also an animator, and working on a few Anime with the same friend I mentioned a couple of times above.
I also have a youtube channel, which is temporarily on hold because of sorting issues.

Fun fact: I could have gotten member 4-5 months ago, but I have a habit of only browsing in Incognito mode.

1. How did you Find Roblox?
Well, I was at my friend’s house and saw him playing a game on his Ipad. Then I asked him, “What are you playing?” He then said “Roblox”. So once I got home, I immediately got on the computer and created an account.

2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox Platform?
I saw a lot of different games on Roblox. I thought to my self “Why don’t I make a game?” So then, I researched on how to find members and start a team. It worked out pretty well! Now I enjoy developing with my team!

3. Current goals/achievements on the platform.
Actually I have a few, but I will only state some. I’ve always wanted to make money off of Roblox. This encouraged me to learn how to develop and contribute with others. I’ve also wanted to make a game that gets on the Front Page. This way, more people would come to my game and I would earn more money to help my self, family, and friends.

4. What is your role in the developer community?
I can actually do a few of many things. I can animate, make GFXs, and make some builds. I’m not so decent at building but I can do it.

5. Anything else you would like to include.
I would like to thank you guys for accepting me into the Roblox Dev Forum. Ever since I started my developing career, I’ve wanted to join this. I hope to create a game that gets on the front page with the Developer Forum’s help! Thank you!

I was introduced to Roblox when I was around 7 by my older brother, and I must say, he’s got great taste! Roblox will always have a place in my heart. At first I just wasn’t really into Roblox, but after some time I became addicted.
2.
Over the course of 6 years, I eventually thought about how cool it would be to make my own game. So I began learning to the best of my ability.
3.
A year later I really am working on my own game! My goals, honestly, are to make some serious money. Not just that, but to also make games that I want to play, for the sake of having fun.
4.
I enjoy building in a blocky style, so I do most of my building inside of Studio. I only develop elsewhere when I’m designing UI. This leads to my specialties in Roblox, which is everything. I made sure to learn how to build, script, and design UIs, as I am a solo developer.
5.
I am very excited to be a part of this community and can’t wait to see what it has to offer!

Hello.

I remember finding Roblox at 2013, same year when I discovered Minecraft and I’ve been playing it ever since. I also tried out Roblox Studio and made some games that are outdated.

I am planning to make a car imported from Blender (discovered Blender in 2016), rig it and make it usable for Roblox and also planning to make a showcase in high quality.

I hope to achieve my goals through trial and error and I can’t wait to try out new features such as PBR Material customization, one of the upcoming features that made me interested since I like photo-realistic graphics and my skills with realism are advanced.

Hi. I am new to the developer forums and I just have to say that I really like it. I first found out about roblox in 2012 on an old account on mobile. Then in 2015, I made this account on my first pc that was from 2010. As soon an I had know that you can make your own games, I immediately wanted to make one. so I made my first game in 2015 and it consisted of only free models because I did not know how to build. And now, I have made a couple games that are just projects that I have been working on forever now. One of main goals of being here in the developer forums, is to improve the performance and the quality of roblox on all platforms. One thing that I have already done, is making a chunk loader that changes depending on graphics quality. I have experience in blender, building, programming, and Graphics. So I guess my role on here is programmer. So yeah this introduction was lengthy, and I am very sorry if it is supposed to be smaller but I am so glad to be here.

  1. I have a vague memory about that but sadly I cannot easily explain.

  2. I started Roblox on a very old account. When I was 7 years old i just messed around with the toolbox etc.

  3. I have many game projects of different styles and genres I am currently working on.

  4. I am a programmer and builder I also know how to make pixel art.

  5. I am so glad I will be able to post here as I always had trouble finding a source where I can post my problems and get them solved.

Hello, I’m HollowAurelius and I do a bit of everything when it comes to development.

I’m from the UK and I’ve been on Roblox since late 2011, and made my first account (this one) in early 2012. I’m primarily a clothing designer (at the moment), but I’m also a fairly good builder, a beginner modeller on blender and I have a slightly-more-than-basic understanding of lua, although I’m looking to improve in every way I can

I’ve learnt all of my skills through my group, a Napoleonic France, as the sole developer and leader, but I’d like to expand into game-making since I’ve got a few decent ideas I’ve been hanging on to but I’m not nearly talented enough to bring them to fruition yet.

My goal by the end of my time on Roblox is to be able to make whatever I can think of, especially regarding scripting, without needing to have someone else help me.

I’m really excited to join the DevForum, I’ve been wanting to for ages!

I found ROBLOX from a friend, he introduced me to the game and I quickly became hooked!

I had always known of the Developer Forum, and I occasionally popped in for news, but after I got extremely interested in Developing (2 years ago) I slowly started to watch it more, then I started constantly checking it, which led to me getting an account and later New Member!

Get involved with a moderate/large Development Studio. I’ve always wanted to work fluently with a team of hard working Developers, and to be able to please a fan base!

Builder! I’ve attempted scripting, but it just never clicked. But I also know how to rig/animate, 3D model. (I make all of my models for builds in Blender, I personally am not a big fan of using toolbox, but there is nothing wrong with it!

I have been on the platform for almost 4 years now, I am extremely active on Discord, and I moderate in some large/recognizable discord servers, including: Welcome to Bloxburg, Armenti Squad, Bloxburg Giveaways, and PuR3 Luck!

Hi,

I am luk i am accepted recently and i really like to be a part of devforum. I think i am better in models then scripts because i dont like much words
But i try to be active on saturday and sunday.

PS Congrats everyone that got accepted :happy1:

Have a nice day

I’m new to this forum, like basically anyone else who posts a message here. It’s great to be here, and I hope I can help most of y’all with your projects.

I found Roblox early 2013 through my little brother, playing as a guest until I finally got my own account. How he knew of it, I have no idea. I got started with development almost as soon as I got my account, because I have always been interested in this Development as y’all put it.

My current goals/achievements in this platform have been earning just over $100 from the wonderful Hidden Developers! Joining this forum was also another great achievement for me. I guess another unsaid achievement was earning how to competently script.
My role in this community is Scripter/Programmer. I have been able to script from a basic level for about one and a half years so far. Making my games solely by myself, I’ve also picked up a few skills, such as animating and modelling.

Anything else I would like to include?

  • Being Australian isn’t profitable because almost everyone is in unreachable timezones. It’s great to live where I do though.
  • No tech components are produced here, so price is actively about 3 times more than what you would pay over in America. Thus, I have to use my laptop.
  • I don’t take things that seriously. Like, at all.

Thanks for reading, my guys!

I’ve been using this amazing resource for a long time, and its great news to see this welcome message of acceptance.

I’m TheGaelicKing, a relatively new Robloxian but a developer from the start. I joined Roblox back in 2017 after hearing about it from friends. I discovered this vast forum when I encountered my first problem, and I quickly realized how useful it is. The Developer Forum has helped me grow as a programmer, and it’s truly an honor to be invited.

I am looking forward to being a part of this community!

I found the ROBLOX Community in 2014 through, my friend. When I first discovered Roblox Studio I started watching youtube videos about programming & building models in the studio. After some years, I got better at it and started creating bigger projects. My goal is to become a professional and needful developer in ROBLOX. My roles are builder, scripter & designer.

I found ROBLOX while playing with my cousing around 2010, however, I really got into roblox around mid 2017. I started making skins for Counter Blox as a community member because I was getting into design a lot and connecting my passion with something I enjoyed and played almost every day was great. I’ve worked my way up these 2 years and designed over 110+ skins that are currently in-game! I’m the head of the team behind the skins and I really enjoy it. My goal is to become a successful designer and a respected member in the community. I mostly make 2d graphics, some GFX and started making some UI stuff for Counter Blox Trading. I’m always looking to overcome myself and learn new things! : D

INTRODUCTION

Greetings! I’m Kly and I’m am so honored to actually be a new member within the Developer Forum! I have been on and off here and there looking and searching for new ways to build and create on Roblox Studio. This has been my main place for information.

How did you find Roblox?

I found this amazing virtual world in September of 2017. I was watching some gaming videos and stumbled across the Flamingo channel. I soon created an account known as Mitybean8, but I changed that username later on.

How did you get started with development on the Roblox Platform?

I just got into studio and played around. I’m still not good but it is fun to test free model scripts and turn tiny studs into skyscrapers.

Current goals/achievements on the platform.

Become well known and own a couple of limited items. I also hope to one day join the QA Testers.

What is your role in the development community?

Builder.

CONCLUSION

Thanks again for letting me be a New Member. I can’t wait to start doing more.

Hello, I’m TimTheMushroom and I have been building for 3 years now on ROBLOX. I am honored that I was invited to join this forum. I can’t wait to get to know this community and learn more from it.

Hello gamers! I’m mastone1, a french developer. I found ROBLOX when I was between 10 and 11 after watching JJ5x5 videos. I started developing this summer with all sorts of ideas. My current goals are to make those ideas reality and my best achievement so far is making Shores an F3X-based building game that I released earlier this month.
For now I’m mostly taking on the role of programmer, the rest doesn’t quite suit me… yet.
Fun fact, I got into coding because I wanted to customize a free model light.

Hello, I am pewpie12302die. I know, username sounds similar to “pewdiepie”, because I created this account to protest his ban. Back to the topic.
I found Roblox from youtube videos, like “50 ways to die in Roblox”, I thought that it was some minecraft copy, but I wasn’t sure and made my first account.
At first, i saw “create” button on the website and thought “oh cool I can create games!”, but that was a long time ago. Because it was hard, i left developing for a while. Then, for a reason I don’t remember, I started learning Lua from videos on Roblox channel. Few months later, my friend created freemodeled games and said that he built everything. I thought “zomg freemodeled game and he says it’s his own! Let’s see who’s the boss here!”, but building was still pretty hard, until I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwl_1n_purY. That video gave me a very strong motivation punch, and my first game was created - Meeting Place.
I have created a few games on my another account Milennium1902, like Bloxy Cola Factory and Explosion Testing. Factory has 124 visits and Explosion Testing - 171. In near future, I want to finish Bloxy Cola Factory (currently it’s in beta) and get money through DevEx.
Role… I guess I’m a builder ¯_(ツ)_/¯, because I like building more than writing code.
You might wonder - why am I creating games on Milennium1902 and posting from this account? Simply because earlier I visited DevForum on this account first by mistake, and since both of my accounts used the same email, I can’t use Milennium1902 here. Thank you for reading.
