Hey there I’m Aqeix a 16 year old college student from the uk! I am here to start my Roblox dev journey so I am going to be asking a lot of coding/modelling questions!
Some facts about me!
How did I find Roblox? Well I started playing Roblox in 2011 and have played on and off since then!
How did I get started with development on the Roblox platform? I made a little basic game with no code involved in 2014 and then left it for a while and recently my friends asked me to help them make a game and I have begun learning LUA!
Current goals/achievements on the platform. My current goals are to become a good programmer and to help many people on the issues they have!
What is your role in the developer community? Beginner programmer.
I want to be able in the future to help others like me in any issues they have!
I found out about Roblox by my friend as a game in 2017. First month i played games, until i got tired of that. Then i found roblox studio and started to use it. I didn’t make games, but learned a lot of functions, so for now studio isn’t so “foreign” and i’m not so bad at it as before. In the future i’m planning make some games and have some actually good ideas. Also I use studio for making roblox GFXes and animations and a lot of other stuff. But my passion is making games. That is what I’m planning. So I joined Dev Forum to learn more about roblox studio functions and features.
At this point, the details may be fuzzy since this was many years ago.
I saw a video on the game, played as a guest for about ~9 days and then made an account.
How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
I’m not sure of what exactly lead me to this, however all I know is that it began in early 2016.

I’m not sure yet. I’m still figuring out what my goals are.

Hello! I am w_anderIust and I have recently started building on Roblox. I found Roblox back in 2012 when my friend allowed me to share his account with him. I have only recently began to build about two months ago and I am now trying to learn how to script. I have made only two builds: The Polar Express and a mansion dedicated off one in Beverly Hills. On the Dev Forums I plan to sell my assets and save up to hire a team for an upcoming game
I first found roblox when I was around 10~(2014), I saw a tobygames video on Roblox, and I loved it.
Ever since I set foot on the platform, I’ve always wanted to make my own game, just needed to build up the motivation to learn how to. After losing my old account I finally decided to learn how to program.
One goal I have is to devex for the first time. Another goal is to expand my programming knowledge.

I joined Roblox in 2017 thanks to one of my friend which made me discover roblox,
I started with development on this platform because I like the creation side of each games and this why that I thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to learn with development on Roblox which is really more interesting and funny for me.
My first goal currently on this platform would be to release my own game with a studio development team. Actually I’m a builder and a novice terrain modeler and 3D modeler but I’m learning fast, I would love to learn LUA.

Hello! I am Indresa and I have been designing and drawing for several years now. I’m a new member of the Developer Forum and extremely excited to start getting more active here.
I discovered Roblox back in 2014, one of my friends recommended it. We were both still young and when she showed me a few games on the platform that I liked, I directly fell in love with the large range of games and possibilities Roblox had to offer. I haven’t been active for all those years beside the fact that I occasionally checked in to play some games and have some fun.
I started with development and designing after I discovered there was a whole community behind it. I joined Twitter where I discovered a lot of new information, designers and other topics related to designing where I started to form an interest to do it myself. I would make art for people for free and my following increased a little time by time. I got in contact with other designers, started doing commissions and improved my art a lot.
My current goal would be to hopefully start reaching out to a larger part of the Roblox community by user Developer Forums instead of just using other socials. I hope to experience with different sorts of commissions to hopefully improve my work and share it with the community.
I am a 2D artist and clothing designer but I also make GFX, although those are mainly for personal use as I’m not as interested nor experienced with making them.
I am absolutely thrilled to learn a lot more, hopefully, meet tons of new people along the way and to have an amazing time here, improving the quality of my work and satisfying people with my commissions!

Hi I’m xZylter, I am just here to build up my knowledge of Roblox Lua to hopefully one day release a game that I will be proud of. This forum will for sure be a great place for me to help fill the gaps when learning DataStores and more complex Services provided by the API.
Another personal goal for me would be to stop changing my mind on what game I want to make just because “it’s basically a copy of this game” or “it won’t gain enough players to be worth the labor”. Since right now I should just be happy I made something that works.

I discovered Roblox when my son came home from school wanting to play it. He was 6 at the time, so I set him up a under 13 account and let him loose. He has since introduced me to it and I have been playing on and off since. That was 2 years ago.
I’m a self-taught web developer currently working as a Senior Software Engineer. I have dabbled in game development using Unity and various other libraries/tools, so I thought I’d see what it was like to develop for Roblox.
My current goal for the platform is to ultimately publish a game I’m proud of and if I am able to make a little money in the process, then even better!
I guess my role in the community would be Programmer. I am still learning the caveats of Lua. The language I’m most comfortable using is JavaScript/TypeScript. Although, I have used C, C++, BASIC, PHP, SQL, and Java.

I found roblox due to my cousin telling me about it. I got into roblox since the first day i played it and loved it ever since.
2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
I was always interested in building, when i was young, I use to build lego from age of 6 and then when i was 10 i started playing minecraft but then i found out i could make anything i wanted on roblox and ever since i have been building.
3. Current goals/achievements on the platform
I want to become a successful developer on the Roblox platform, currently achieving this goal by working on a game with 1.1 Mil visits.
4. What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
I am a Builder but i also can program a bit.

Hey! I’m Deeear, a designer. My little brother found Roblox around 2012, and encouraged me to play with him, and I fell in love with the game. Started around 2013 when I met this person who helped me with designing, he taught me for free despite his skill. Realistically, my goal would be to make money and gather a good amount of experience. Finally, I specialize in GFX design, but I’m getting into UI design.

I found Roblox around 2012 as a guest, in 2014 I finally got an account, but I soon lost that because I fell for a scam.
I’ve always been super into making my own games and scripting, I made a game on scratch where you clicked ghosts, and if you tried to get the max score.
I didn’t think of actually developing on Roblox until I found AlvinBlox around 2 years ago, a youtuber that teaches development for Roblox and Lua. My first video was how to make a door using Transparency and CanCollide. I wrote down what he did, and I soon got used to the syntax. I learned about the Touched event with lava blocks. Then I jumped to admin commands, but my code was super un-neat and just used if-statements with strings in the Chatted event.
I really haven’t achieved anything on Roblox yet, I’m stuck. I need to learn more but I can’t find any learning resources, I would love the help. Really I want to learn something interesting, I learn easier with threads rather than the wiki page though (unless it’s an article).
I am DrDarkMatter, I have been signed up to Roblox in 2011 and ever since it has become a huge partition of my life. I enjoyed the games created by other developers and decided to learn how to script, from then on my life has been set to create games that I would enjoy playing on the website. Hello all! I’m ShaneSloth, I’ve been a developer on ROBLOX for going on 7 years. I first found ROBLOX through a friend, I cam to development through clans, began my clan ‘career’ in late 2012 and began developing (learning) in early 2013.
Currently my primary goal is to assist my home clan (first clan I joined and had a warm group of friends) with providing better ‘tech’ leading their development as the Director of their development group.
I’m a Programmer and UI/UX Designer both self and academically taught. Began scripting on ROBLOX in 2013 and began programming in Java later that year.
Recently came back to ROBLOX from a year and a half to two year hiatus
Hi, I’m Chrofex! I found out about Roblox when I was very young through a friend.
My first few years on Roblox were just me enjoying the core of the game. However, after a few years, I started trading on Roblox and eventually made enough to branch out to development.
I would love to have a successful game on Roblox. By successful, I mean, to build an active community around a game.
Currently, I mostly commit to programming but also do simple builds and UI design on the side.

I have been playing roblox for about 5 years. I have been developing for the last 2 years. I am a Builder and a starfighter designer. I am mainly a Star Wars developer and I normally make temples for Star Wars groups.
