Introduction thread for new forum members

Hi! I am a new member and it’s great to be accepted.

  1. I am SimonLacrima and I’ve been a member of ROBLOX for about 5 years now, switching between many different accounts when my friends suggested I play ROBLOX and I really enjoyed it.

  2. I started to get interested in development around 1 year ago when I wanted to make my own game in ROBLOX so I started watching some youtube tutorials.

  3. My current goals on the platform are to become recognised as a popular game creator, around 300k+ visits and a goal of 500 concurrent players.

  4. My role in the development community is a Programmer!

  5. I’d like to just say thank you to the ROBLOX staff for accepting me into the forum as now I am able to share my opinion on development topics and help out others while finding some information that can help me out too. :slightly_smiling_face:

Greetings! I finally got accepted

I’m SpaceRhye. I’ve been on Roblox since 2015 when my friend suggested the game to me and have attempted to create a game pretty much ever since then but never really put much effort into doing it, however due to being in virtual school i now have tons of time to put thought and effort into game creation which is really exciting.

I started getting into development originally because a lot of my online friends when i joined were into it, but i personally got into it recently because i realized it was something i could combine two things I really like (programming and art) with

I don’t really have any big goals yet since i’m pretty new to developing. I just hope my games, such as the game i’m currently working on are enjoyed by people once i eventually finish them

I’m new to most of the stuff concerning developing but some things i’m looking forward to eventually mastering are
-programming
-GFX
-Design
-Building/Modeling

Hi there!

  1. How did you find Roblox?
I heard about Roblox many years ago without really trying it out. Last year because of the pandemic I heard there were even more people playing it so I gave it a try. Then I found that I love it and I would play with my daughter together from time to time.

  2. How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?
I worked for an EdTech company and I have an opportunity to propose a new initiative so I mentioned why don’t we try building something using the Roblox platform. My boss like it so therefore I started learning together with my team how to build Roblox game.

  3. Current goals/achievements on the platform
I am still exploring but my goal is to build something that kids, teachers, and parents would all like and teachers can use the games we made for teaching any subjects easily.

  4. What is your role in the developer community? (eg. GFX, UI Designer, Programmer, Builder etc)
I do a little bit of everything.

  5. Anything else you would like to include
I am so happy to become a member in the forum. I am actively looking for talented Roblox artists and developers so that I may outsource works to speed up what my team is doing.

Hello there! I am JustDenzX, I can’t remember when I found roblox but my brother introduced me to it when I was still quite small. I started making things in studio around late 2016 - late 2017 after I found roblox studio already downloaded on my computer I can’t remember exactly what I first built or why but I know my brother liked it. My goal is to learn from over developers to become more skilled in what I enjoy! I am a builder and I also make GFX.

  1. How did you find Roblox?
I saw a video with DanTDM playing it, and I joined as a guest in 2016 and eventually joined in 2017. Ever since I’ve been hooked.

  2. How did you start with development on the Roblox platform?
I wanted to start learning to script my own game, so I used the forums and YouTube guides to help.

  3. Current goals/achievements on the Roblox platform:
I am currently focusing on learning all basic scripts, and then using what I know to make a basic Roblox game. It’ll probably be awful, but my long term goals are bigger. I eventually plan to open my own SCPF on the platform, or make a JoJo game, or maybe something just completely original!

  4. What is your role in the development community?
I would consider myself to be a beginner Programmer.

How did you find Roblox?

I saw an ad on some sort of flash-game site in like 2009 or so. Been doing random stuff since then, and plan on staying for as long as possible.

How did you get started with development on the Roblox platform?

I originally started off just building random stuff in the studio. I wanted to do more. I decided to try and take up scripting because building wasn’t really my forte. I’ve been getting better, and I create stuff on my own accord. Once I get tired of a project I’ll leave it be forever.

Current goals / achievements on the platform

I’ve made many friendships, and many bad experiences through ROBLOX, that’s one reason why I stay. I meet really cool people, and it’s a good place for me to socialize from time to time. It’s a good way to pass time, you know? Learn, talk, play.

What is your role in the developer community?

I’m intermediate at scripting. so Programming. I started about a year, year and a half ago. I’m improving slowly, but surely.

Anything else you would like to include

I also do clothing designing. I’m not good at it but I try. I mostly dabble in recreating particle effects from other games, because I find it fun. ROBLOX is a good pastime for me, and I love to meet new people on it. It’s a really good place for me to be, sometimes. A good way to express my creativity and have some fun in the meantime.

Hello, My name is skye_1jetYT and I have had Roblox for a very long time, on other accounts, so I don’t even remember how I found Roblox. I have always been interested in creating games, and then I found out about Roblox Studio back in 2017 or maybe in 2016 and I used it a lot for about two or three weeks and then I just got bored of it and didn’t use it very much so I am not that good of a developer right now but I have been using it a lot more lately. My current goal is to get a game onto the front page, my current achievement is that I got a game with over 1000 visits. My role in the developer community is a modeler, I have one model which I made in Studio, but I have made a few really good models in blender but Roblox won’t let me put them in because it says there are too many triangles, I not calling Roblox bad, I’m just saying that I have made a lot of models before.

Hi, I’m SomeElevatorGuy, some people just call me Some.
I started with Roblox in early 2018 but after all I got bored. So I deleted my first Account and came back in 2020. Just after I made my todays Account, I found out about Roblox Studio.
My only current goal is to get 100 Group Members. I always liked to build little objects like signs, door handles, just detailed stuff.
Thank You for Reading this and have a nice Day

Hey developers! I have just got accepted on the developer forum and I’m going to introduce myself to you guys!

I first found Roblox mainly from playing with my friends at school lot’s, we would play jail break and lot’s of other fun games. I first got started on development on Roblox when I found this game quite a while ago and saw that they were bringing a brand new version of their game out, I then got really interested in that and decided to start practising building, and some scripting. One of my goals is to release a successful Roblox game, my other goal is to learn how to script on Roblox Studio, it was really hard at first but now I’m great at building and an ok scripter. My role in the developer community is builder, I believe I am best at this position and I can get the best experience out of it.

Thank you for reading.

Hello there! I found Roblox more or less in 2016 watching a video in YouTube about it, so I got interested to play roblox for the first time.
I began to design clothing (mainly allstars cheerleading uniforms) in 2019 and with the time I discovered my love and passion to it. Then when I used to own a roblox gymnastics and cheerleading group I tried to build in roblox studio, but my skills weren’t very good.
I hope someday I can become a better designer. But everything is question of practicing and putting lots of dedication.
When I don’t design, I love reading, dancing and listening to music. :two_hearts:

I feel glad for being chosen to join the dev forum, thank you so much for this opportunity and have a nice day!
