Hey! Just got member rank only few hours ago.
My story of finding Roblox isn’t too fancy. I was 9, and was looking through Youtube to find anything that would interest my 9 year old self. After some searching and browsing, I found this Youtuber named EthangamerTV, and had my interest peaked at the 3D game he was playing, which turned out to be Roblox. I was too scared to ask my mom if I can get Roblox, so I sticked to watching his videos for a while, till eventually I asked my mom and she let me download roblox. I first didn’t have an account, and played as a guest, but eventually, I begged my mom for an account and got one.
While I am not sure if I can call myself a developer (I only made assets for like, 2 games and its really just one drawing that got recoloured for the second game), I was interested in Roblox development ever since I started making some developer friends, and eventually opened commissions. I first started my commissions on HiddenDevs Discord, but after a while, I left the Discord due to some issues I found with the server. Now I usually get commissions from friends, and rarely get commissioned by anyone else due to it. However, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more commissions and be able to call myself as a dev one day through DevForums!
My current goal on the platform right now is to gather enough robux to be able to devex, since I want to buy myself a nice laptop (I currently do work through IPads and my school-issued Chromebook), and to set my own game studio up one day. I would love to learn Lua, since then I can set up my own game studio and gather some friends who would like to make games with me. I guess some of the achievements I have right now is perhaps making an asset for a game that gets around 100-200 concurrent players, and another one for 100-50 concurrent.
I am a 2D artist who mainly focuses on an anime style, although I am currently working to develop a secondary style that would be more suited for Roblox! I have been drawing digitally for around 4 years, although I’ve only started to improve in the past 2 years. Digital art can sometimes make me stressed, but I always love the reaction of people when they see my art, which is probably why I strive to improve and bring more joy to people.
I hope I’ll be able to find my place in this community, and that I’ll meet a lot of great people!
