As a System Menu user, one of the reasons I am reluctant to use Ribbon Bar is because the scroll bars are inverted.
Take a look at this collection of scroll bars from the following sources:
- Default Windows 8
- Discord Light
- Discord Dark
- Roller Coaster Tycoon
- Microsoft Word 2010
- Google Drive spreadsheet
- ROBLOX Studio (System Menu)
- ROBLOX Studio (Ribbon Bar)
Notice that among these there is a trend: The bar is darker than the background. The only two that do not follow this trend are SystemMenu and MS Word 2010. Even so, MS Word 2010 gets away with it.Why can MS Word 2010 get away with having a lighter bar and ROBLOX Studio (Ribbon Bar) can’t get away with it? Because the outlines on the bar have high contrast to the bar and the track, the outlines on the bar are curved at the corners, the bar has a marker denoting the center, and there is a gradient on the bar where there is none on the background (and the gradient goes from lighter to darker than the track).
Every time I try ROBLOX Studio (Ribbon Bar) I feel like i’m fighting an uphill battle because of this issue. How can I reliably develop when I can’t even reliably scroll up and down?
If ROBLOX is to convince me to use stop using ROBLOX Studio (System Menu) and switch to ROBLOX Studio (Ribbon Bar), something has to be done about the scroll bar.
