(im not used to making UI related topics so please lmk if this is in the wrong topic)
I was currently attending to adding more hotbar slots into a inventory GUI i made when i realised i had to address this problem i had with the layout of each compartment…
before, i had stretched the Character panel horizontally to fill the dead space shown, however when i peeled it back i realised how much space i was wasting that could be used elsewhere, in the extra hotbar slots or giving the crafting panel more room because it was already a bit squished. and so, i tried a different layout that favoured giving room specifically to these two panels:
however, i still feel like this layout doesn’t work either, as there is dead space on the sides of the hotbar, and due to the nature of the crafting recipes having to be wide when i eventually need space to fill for multiple ingredients, it takes up a massive portion of the screen.
as a personal opinion, i preferred the first layout which is why i kept it as such until i needed to change it for more hotbar space, and my question now is if anyone with more experience in UI development could give any ideas or tips on how to properly manage the space here and layout the panels to what i need, as im not too good with space management apparently
(i will respond in the next 7-10 hours or so as i currently gtg sleep)
