Is any form of slavery allowed?

Hello, I am pandap153.

Is slavery allowed in the form of storytelling or lore? It won’t be inflicted in any way to the player, and is only going to be lightly touched upon as lore in the myth game I am planning for, although the character in the story’s mental health with deteriorate because of this.

Edit: Also forgot to say that the character was sold to the owner.

The reason I thought this may be allowed because the retired myth AloneTraveler had a slave.

Any support on this is highly appreciated.

Im gonna take a guess here, but I think if it’s not a race thing it’s ok.
I wish there was an option to mark games 13+ or something.

I don’t think slavery would be allowed. Anything implying inhumane treatment of people wouldn’t usually fly. (Hence why Ro-Bio and similar games got taken down.)

Ro-bio was entirely based on that, this is just a lightly touched upon part of lore.

Could you elaborate on what type of slavery is going to be in your game? Is it based off of historical forms of slavery or completely unrelated? Also, it doesn’t really matter in moderation whether it is a small or large part of the game.

It’s just someone being forced to do what a farm worker would do for no pay and for a lot longer time, without the owner wanting you to get out of it, essentially.

It’s fine if you make it something like hiring a worker to do stuff for you, like in some tycoons, but actual slavery would not be allowed.

Slavery would be considered as racism and discrimination in some way, which is against Roblox TOS. My best answer is there is no form of slavery allowed.

I know what slavery is, but what I was asking is if your game based off of times in human history where slavery was allowed or completely fictional/fantasy. This probably wouldn’t matter regardless, though, as (quoted from TOS Community rules, section 11) “Activities or actions that are dangerous to others, unethical or illegal or that violate any local, national or international laws or regulations.”

Tl:dr:

No. It violates Roblox’s rules against unethical treatment in activities or actions.

I wouldn’t have any direct attribution to slavery but you could just label the character you want to be a “slave” as a “worker” or “servant”.

can’t you use a script that tells that?

I see. Is there any replacement for this to make the character’s mind deteriorate over time without being against Roblox’s rules?

Well, there are, but they probably seem like compromises. You could have it be a family or paid business/employment, but if slavery is is important to the backstory of your game, I’m not sure how this could work.

Stress of being an employer or just stress in general could be used in replacement of slavery.

Well, I would say slavery is fine as long as there is no exploitation involved. Slavery isn’t by itself inhumane. It’s the mistreatment of slaves that is.

So, so long as you don’t put any mistreatment, exploitation or people being treated inhumanely you should be fine.
