Is bidding on your creations allowed?

Hey guys. I have a question. Let’s says you come across a post that’s this:

Post

MAP PICTURE HERE

bid starting at: 100 ROBUX
Other details …

Would this be allowed, or is putting this break some ROBLOX rule I don’t know about. If your wondering how it even works, the creator would add everyone into a disc group, and they would message there ROBUX bids.

The question remains. Is putting bids on creations against the rules?

You’re allowed to sell creations on Roblox, so what difference is this?

I don’t believe there is a rule explicitly against it.

Bidding is diffrent, it can reach a really high point, thing is, some kids might bid like 500 ROBUX and not have it. The point is bidding is something that can cause a lot of problems, and since biding can be a problem causers, I would think there would be a rule to avoid it so problems don’t start.

For the record, kids are not supposed to be on the forums in the first place.

True. Kids still fake there age. There is no way of telling there real age.

I would say bidding is a little sketchy. I’d ask for offers instead and telling them “highest offer will receive the creation” sort of thing. So it’s like bidding but it won’t turn into a bidding war since it’s only between you and the purchaser.

Yes, this might get you a very low amount for a beautiful creation. You should have a rough estimate on what you want for it then you can negotiate a price with a potential buyer.

Why would I be between me and the other person? I don’t want to but my own build? Unless your saying I’d they do 50, and I say 51 and they have to beat me, what ever they don’t do the buy it for. For emails they say 100 I say 101 they don’t want more, they buy it for 100? Is this what you mean?

I wouldn’t say bidding is completely against rules, but as @Notrealac0unt said, you could get a very low amount offered for a really good creation.

For example, start at 50 and max 100 or something like that?

Yes and no, if you’re looking for a price suitable for you do the median of those two prices. So in your example 50 min 100 max your price should be 75 and you can negotiate from said price.
EDIT - that’s my opinion on it, you can do what you said as well and find a price through that range of numbers.

I like how you think of the median of the two numbers, they always work in your favor? Or no?

Not necessarily. If you have numbers like, 50 to 75 as example you get 62.5, so then if this is the case round that number to either 62 or 63 (which ever number you like) But yes this always works in your favor.

Ah, you’ve figured out a very good way to do it, but would this break rules? Will this be seen by mods and get taken down?

I wouldn’t think so, you’re figuring out how to set a price for a Roblox model using the forums community. I don’t think this would be taken down. You’re not breaking any rules by setting a price range, if your gambling, that’s different but your just, again, setting a price range for your model.

I’m sure that would work, as long as there is no gambling. Maybe two individuals want a model, whichever pays more gets the model. The other individual doesn’t receive the model but doesn’t pay. Don’t quote me on this, I am not sure.

Giving a model for a limited is definitely a no-no.

Wait, can you trade limiteds in exchange for contracted work if both parties are ok with it?

I read somewhere saying that it is banned, and I can totally believe it.

Limiteds have an unstable value, and the one giving away the limited may call the other one a “scammer.” At least with Robux and money, it doesn’t have a continuously-changing value.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Could you provide a link to where you read this? It’s ok if you can’t I’m just curious

I may not be able to as of currently, because I read it on a #public-collaboration:public-recruitment post before I was accepted into the DevForum, that was about a week ago when I read it.
