Is CoD zombies sound effects safe to use?

I am developing a zombie game currently and I was wondering if CoD zombies sound effects are safe to use because I don’t want to get copyrighted, other games has done this in the past such as Recoil Zombies, Project Lazarus, etc.

No, it’s not. Don’t use any sounds you don’t have permission to use, even if another game did it without anything bad happening to them.

I wouldn’t use any audio assets you don’t have the rights to use. Better safe than sorry.

Realistically, you’re not going to get copyrighted. Some people on Roblox like to believe they’re some big developers and that billion-dollar companies are watching their 0 concurrent player games. I wouldn’t worry about it.

What if your game becomes popular all of a sudden? Now you have a bunch of copyrighted assets to deal with. You also violate the terms of service by uploading content that you don’t have the rights to.

The most they’ll do to the kid is ask him to remove the sound asset—that’s if it becomes a huge success, as in the 99.999 percentile of games. I really do wonder if most people here are living in some fantasy world; it’s like they believe Activision is going to play their games, get 100 of their lawyers, and create a lawsuit for 1 billion dollars because of a sound asset—get real. There are thousands of Among Us advertisements, thumbnails, etc. on here, and I can guarantee no one on Among Us gives one iota. Further, Gucci came on here; the most that happened is that people had their Gucci clothing deleted; no one magically had their Bobux taken away because they used the Gucci logo. Gucci could not care less, and I’m sure once they realize how little they’re making that they’ll quit as soon as they came.

I understand that you’re young—I’m not knocking on you, but you’ll realize soon enough once you have enough experience in the world that these companies have bigger fish to fry.

It might not seem like a big deal, using a copyrighted asset from a huge corporation. And your right, some companies couldn’t care less… but it’s better to be safe than sorry. These companies, if they see you’re using their assets, have the right to file DMCA takedown notices. I mean, we’ve all seen the whole Subway Roblox group situation.

My advice to @veteraite is to use your own, original assets. Unless you find some way to obtain rights to other’s assets.
