When you think of developing on Roblox, you would probably imagine using free models to turn a simple baseplate into a cool working game and then earning Robux or even real money from it. However, have you ever thought of the odds of your game getting popular? Maybe yes maybe no. While there are some benefits to developing on Roblox, I see more disadvantages😆.
First of all, I have to say that Roblox Studio is an amazing game creator engine. It’s full of community-created models, music and plugins. Second of all, Roblox hosts your game, so you don’t have to host your own game. Third of all, everything is free.
This brings me to one of the disadvantages. After creating your game, you shouldn’t expect it to go viral like those survive the killer games. In fact, if you ever want to have a chance to get your game popular, you have to advertise your game. (With a lot of money). If people like your game, they might continue to play it and buy game passes. This brings me to the second disadvantage. Roblox takes a 30% cut off the Robux you earn and a further 50% when you are trying to exchange them for real money.
What is my opinion on all of this? Well… If you are just a starter, consider developing on Roblox. Nonetheless, if you have a lot of money to spend, don’t push it to Roblox. It ain’t worth it.
