I been working on a new roblox game call boom bricks and I got so much helpful feedback so I been working for hours a day and sometimes I cant play another game without thinking about how my game could be better is this a good thing? I added a lot to some maps and made some new builds and I working on a way for players to vote on maps
Should i keep making things to get the game done faster or would taking my time be better?
what do you think?
I believe you should take breaks when you begin to feel tired, exhausted, or frustrated as you likely aren’t going to be outputting your best work at that point. Sometimes a short break is enough, and other times you might have to take the rest of the day off. I know, for example, that when I am exhausted after coding for hours, my code becomes sloppy, I get frustrated easier, and I end up writing inefficient code that can easily be fixed if I were thinking straight. One major thing to note, however, is that thinking about your game when doing other things on your break isn’t a bad thing. Always draw inspiration for your game when you can.
Hi there, taking breaks from developing is so important! Working on a game constantly and not giving yourself time-offs or breaks can lead to a negative side of development. In this case, deprivation of sleep, lack of motivation, and getting bored easily of your own work. This also knocks into your actual health with a negative impact. Please take breaks whenever you feel an urge to, taking breaks will get you to develop faster with higher motivation and a more satisfying outcome.
The short answer is yes, always take breaks when you need to. When making games, you need to use your brain on what to do if you get an error, and if you’ve been coding all day long, you will be exhausted and tired by all the coding, and make you have less motivation into finishing the game. Games can blow up any time. It doesn’t matter if you submit your game 10 years from now, there is still a chance of it blowing up.
The reason being is that taking a break every 20-30 mins can increase productivity.
Usually, I like to work on my game for 10-15 mind then play my own game for 2 minutes to cool down(inserting random stuff from the toolbox also helps me come up with ideas).
Don’t try to get bogged down with develops too. I have learned over the past few weeks to EXPECT LESS. Your games will very rarely hit the front page so don’t bother wasting hours on end trying to get it there. Roblox is simply using you. Once I spent over 5 hours sitting at a computer trying to figure out how to fix my code. I felt horrible.
