Hi everyone,
I want to ensure I properly credit artists within my Roblox game while adhering to Roblox’s guidelines. Specifically, I’d like to mention an artist in the format “Username - Newgrounds” without including a direct URL in my game.
I understand that Roblox’s policy prohibits linking to external websites except for certain approved platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Discord, X, Twitch, GitHub, and Guilded). These links must use the PolicyService API or be listed in specific settings. Additionally, any form of link in locations where the API cannot be deployed is prohibited. However in my opinion what I am currently doing for my game is not giving a url but just mentioning a website with a username.
Can anyone confirm if mentioning “Username - Newgrounds” without a clickable link is permissible? If this is not allowed, what would be an acceptable method for crediting artists that are not included on the list mentioned above?
Anyhow Thanks for reading and I wish you a nice day!
The Roblox Community Standards disallow “partial links”, which is pretty ambiguous. I don’t think that what you are doing would count as that, but if you want to be on the safe side, I’d just include the Username and leave out the website.
Cheers!

I mailed roblox support about it and they gave me info to just look at the rules. With some hyperlinks toward them, this is all the info I got but I really wish from someone with experience if that be alright. I think the artists deserve well respect for their audio and music they allow me to use.
Anyhow I am very thankful on your advice, but not yet the solution i found. thank you anyhow and take care!

That’s good that you’ve gotten a better solution, I agree that it’s really important to properly credit artists for their work. You just never know with how finicky Roblox Moderation can be.
Good luck on your game!
