Hiya! Recently I got a dm from someone claiming that a pirate ship in our loading screen was theirs.

Free models are great for learning. Just don’t use them without credit to the owner, nor in actual projects you want to make money off of.

It is a red flag if he is claiming he made it. It is your descision at the end of the day to keep him but i would be careful around him.
If they uploaded it as a model and made it free to use, then you have the right to use it. (Credit would still be nice, though!)
If they don’t want people using their model then they shouldn’t of put it on sale, as that grants others permission to use it.
