I’m making this game (won’t give the name) and I wanted to see if I looked it up on Google, if it would come up. It turns out there is a company named exactly the same as my game name. Is it still legal if I still use the name? I am assuming its yes because I see games that have names like Star Wars, Marvel, Iron Man, etc…

EDIT: Decided to give name. The name of the game is Adventure World, and there is a camp in Ireland named that. However, I do not see any (c)'s or trademark symbols anywhere. Here is the link to the park. Reply if you see any trademark symbols.
Say you were to make a game called “Costco” and actually brand yourself as Costco. You are technically illegally using their name as your own I guess, so I am pretty sure. If it is a trademarked game, you will not be allowed to use it.
Like incapaz and ript have stated, if the name is trademarked (you’ll most likely see a logo next to the name), then no it is not legal to name your game that name. To circumvent this you could put a twist on it. For example, instead of Amazon, you could use Amozone (although try to make it a bit more original).
Also, make sure to thoroughly check if a name is trademarked, even if you don’t see the symbol next to it.

But let me give my feedback. You should never use a company’s name in your game, even if it is trademarked. I changed my game from “Ghirardelli Factory Tycoon” to “Chocoblox Factory Tycoon”.
I think that if you get permission from the company, then yes you can use the name.
