Is it necessary to have a license for my module?

Hi!

I was starting to design a panel for my module, when I decided I might have a license for it.
But, is that useless? If it isn’t what should I pick?
I dont want people reselling it, reuploading it, or using it to make money.
I started looking into creative commons, but it’s really confusing and seems over the top for some stupid module.
Thanks for any help!

You can fork your module onto github, once its on there you can add a MIT License which is probably the best suited for you

It’s up to you, if you don’t want people stealing your model and say “hey, thanks for the model loser! It’s mine now!” then it’s worth it

(ignore the white, it’s for another topic i own)

Thanks for the advice, but I’m unsure what one to pick.
I looked into them and there’s none with exactly what I want, it’s always one way or the other.

Hey Pixlz!

I have a similar situation to this. A while back I started making my own panel for game moderators, admins, etc to use and manage their games with ease. I looked into licensing as well.

If you just want a standard license, go with an MIT. There are several other licenses on a site called “choose a license”. You can pick whichever one which seems reasonable to you!

However, keep in mind you understand the uses of every license as some are much more complicated and are for commercial uses only.

Hope this helps, if you want more info feel free to get back to me!
