Yes but a baseball bat and fully automatic weapons are completely different if you think about it… besides do I contact Developer Relations?
If you are that passiote about making that school map then contact Devrloper Relastions.
It’s not that, it’s just I already purchased the map and I don’t want to waste it
I mean like, it should be fine but you can if you’d like to. Either way, piggy has a school map where you kill people in it, so I think this should be fine. However, you should try and hire staff members and teach them when to ban people who abuse the feature that a school map is there.
(tl;dr You can check with them if you want, should be fine, try hire staff that ban people who abuse the feature)
I would suggest just implementing it. If there aren’t explicit references to you know what there shouldn’t be a problem. If you’re still unsure or unconfident then you need to contact Roblox support.
Yes I have said that multiple times but nobody has yet to tell me WHO I should contact!
Many people have told you who to contact.
I know but they take forever to answer. I meant contacting someone on the DevForum
You don’t need to contact somebody on the DevForum; their work mostly revolves around the forum.
The link I shared is how you need to contact Roblox should you feel the need to; unless you have any staff friends you can quickly DM there aren’t any alternatives.
Conntact a moderater anyone you can find
A good question to ask yourself is “should I do it” instead of “can I do it?” Assuming that it’s perfectly allowed on Roblox (it seems like a definite grey area that’s learning towards a hard no), you do need to understand the moral and ethical impacts of doing that. For some people, that could be deeply traumatic or remind them of the trauma. For others, it paints itself in a very negative image. For very obvious reasons, people don’t want to think about having a gun in a school, even if it’s abandoned, let alone killing people in a school building. Personally, I highly recommend that you stay away from creating that map and instead focus on something that’s more neutral in nature. If it hits way too close to home, then it’s too problematic.
I should chime in here and say that this isn’t correct. Roblox is not responsible for the behaviour of players. Developers will be held accountable if players abuse features in a game inappropriately. Rule breakers will be moderated, but large amounts of abuse will result in developer moderation. You do need to hold concern about the behaviour of your playerbase, it’s not something dismissable.
How does this make any sence at all? Inmature 10 year olds are just going to mess with ever game.
He is right, I did some research and what he is saying is correct Developers are ultimately responsible for what happens in their game!
If you are worried about potential moderation actions just make the game BUT publish it on an alternate account that way if it gets banned then your main hopefully will be safe.
That’s why it’s your responsibility as a developer to mitigate the vectors of abuse players can use. Roblox will still hold players accountable for their own actions on a broad degree, but any massive abuse of a game’s features in an inappropriate manner leaves the developer accountable; in this case, the game is typically closed and the developer is asked to improve their game’s features to minimise the risk of widespread inappropriate content within your game.
Sock puppeting to avoid bans doesn’t work and it’s also bad advice. Roblox bans linked accounts if there’s need to do so.
Don’t need to worry about others doing bad in your server. You won’t get punished for it.
If there was a rule about that. Meep city, Adopt me, and a ton of other Roleplay games would’ve been banned a WHILE ago
That’s because each of the listed examples don’t include explicit game features that players can abuse and spread inappropriate content. In this case, players are held accountable for their own actions as normally expected. There are no features you can use to the degree of spreading inappropriate content within the playerbase.
Anyway, this subdiscussion is getting a bit off topic from school maps in shooter games. I simply wanted to clarify that developers are, to an extent, responsible for the behaviour of their players and will get moderated if its possible to abuse a feature and expose players to inappropriate content. If you’ve mitigated this or don’t have any abusable venues, you are okay.
Oh hey, a game I made six years ago.
I’ve grown to distance myself from it since it does involve a school, but when making it I assumed that as long as players could only kill zombies I’d be fine. I haven’t run into any problems with ROBLOX with it, however when remaking a lot of my old zombie games I decided not to remake this one for the same ethical thoughts you have.
