The name of my game will be ‘The Virus’, and I want to make sure this won’t cause issues with ROBLOX in the future, due to the current global pandemic. My game is completely unrelated to this pandemic, and I came up with the game name and idea years ago, it is only recently I returned to Roblox. I don’t want to run into any issues with the game after investing so much time and effort into it, so should I contact Roblox about it before I invest R$ into advertising?
You can email the roblox customer service through VIA email or phone.
You can email roblox but they can’t really tell you what they can do all they can do is advise you. Even if they say yes I would worry less about roblox compared to the backlash you might get. I myself highly advise against you posting this game right now maybe you can rebrand it. Also support could really might not be the best idea to contact maybe contact the dev relations team who can advise you on what to do.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Regards,
Aura
No, not really. Just make sure your game doesn’t have any references to what moderation may (mis)interpret as a COVID-19 reference. Topics of viruses in games aren’t outlawed even with the pandemic ongoing, but going specifically down the COVID-19 route (directly or indirectly) may cause you trouble.
There was a previously popular game called Beat The Virus posted when Covid-19 was still new, like winter or something. They never encountered any trouble because there were never and Covid references. The timing wasn’t awesome, but it was fun enough to avoid too much backlash. The game recently died though.
You actually can’t. ROBLOX Customer Support doesn’t accept direct emails anymore. Just send a support ticket.
I see. My bad I haven’t emailed them in months I guessed they removed that feature. Technically though the support ticket is setting up an email conversation with them.
I can tell you by experience, trying to converse with ROBLOX support is a lost cause and will only result in a waste of time. You’re either continuously replied by a bot or given vague answers by the support agent.
