Is it possible to have "realistic" lighting objects?

What are you attempting to achieve? (Keep it simple and clear)

I want to know if it is possible to have lighting objects such as point lights, surface lights, and spotlights be actually good looking.

What is the issue? (Keep it simple and clear - Include screenshots/videos/GIFs if possible)

This shadow should not be extremely dark with no purple lighting residue at all.
I’m unsure if maybe I have my lighting settings incorrect, or if the lights are just this bad.
The light from the sun however has great lighting, which makes me wonder if that same effect can be done with lighting objects.

What solutions have you tried so far? (Have you searched for solutions through the Roblox Wiki yet?)

I’ve tried looking up solutions all around and all I could really find was volumetric lighting models and scripts, which, I don’t want to use because I would like to make something myself.

You could try tinkering with the “Technology” property in lighting if you haven’t already. It might help the shadows appear differently.

I did before and yes it changed a bit, but not really what I was looking for.

Ah ok, I wish I could be more of help. I hope somebody is able to help you solve this.

Yes! It is possible, You’re going to want to do a few things to get a more realistic look to your build.

-change you Lighting property called “Technology” to “Future.” Future uses more realistic lighting and has better effects with point lights, spotlights etc…

-Use 2022 materials, while im not sure if this is 100% accurate: most 2022 materials are PBR which means they interact with lighting better due to the different maps that layer the texture.

-Change the settings of your point light to enable shadows and the brightness or what not to change to your liking.

-Changing global lighting properties. You might find it helpful to change the lighting of your world as a whole.

I did not know about the 2022 materials, but I did have them on and turning them off made the room look better so I’m pretty sure I gotta change the global lighting properties.
